OK, this will bring you the most amazing, life changing experiences you have ever experienced. I mean it. It has transformed my life and brought me to an awareness I never though possible.

If you are able to have clear, stabilized lucid dreams, you have to try this and post your experience. I have searched all over for forums where this technique is practice and have found none (though I am sure I have missed some!).

If you practice meditation, meditate in your lucid dream. Let go of everything and use the meditation technique where you clear your mind of everything. Make sure you maintain lucidity though! But find a nice quite place in your dream, sit down, and meditate. Maintain lucidity. Think of your Higher Self, nothing else. Go with it. Stay with it as long as you can.

I have experienced that a number of things will happen. Don't know if the order will be the same for everyone.

First I had very symbolic spiritual dreams. They would materialize in the darkness of my 'closed' eyelids. Extremely spiritually symbolic in nature and changed my perspective on everything.

Secondly, I began experiencing vibrations that felt physical. In the beginning they would take place in my spiritually symbolic dream states.

Third, the vibrations began happening with ease, right at the onset of meditation. I would remain in the current lucid dream.

Fourth, the vibrations began to be accompanied by a strong 'wind'. The wind was so violent it would pull me out of focused meditation and I would wake up.

Fifth, I began consciously controlling the meditative state even while the vibrations and wind were overwhelming. This was very hard because it feels completely physical. There is a massive rushing sound and feeling occurring and you have to train your mind to ignore it and just go with whatever is happening.

Sixth, I stayed with the vibration and wind until it subsided. (There was an experience with that, but I won't get into it since this is already quite long. If someone is interested, just post it and I will respond).

When it subsides, the only thing I can say is that you are literally in a spiritual plane of existence. It is more real than waking life. I have found myself in different places of spirit that are sooooooo real that it has 100 % made me realize that there is different dimensions. They truly, in all honesty and reality, exist.

Again, I'll post my experiences if people want me to, but this is getting long.

There is only one other place I have seen that this technique has/had been practiced, and that is the Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep.

Why hasn't this been more common!!!??? No one talks about it! Please, if you are an experienced Lucid Dreamer, try meditating during your Lucid Dreams and contact me.

I believe this is the most profound experience anyone can have in spiritual growth.

When I've closed my eyes in LDs, my dream ends. :P

The dream ends in that you wake up?

Try doing this, using whatever your favorite technique is. My favorite technique is focusing on complex patterns once I feel lucidity begin fading. Once I studied the bark on a tree, up close. I looked back out into the dreamscape until I could feel lucidity fading again, then I turned back towards the bark. As I concentrated on the patterns in the bark, focus would become clearer. Clarity would return. Then I would look back out. Each time I did this, clarity would last longer. I would step away from the tree and take a walk within close proximity of the tree. If I felt things were fogging up, I would just step back to the tree.

I 've used the fingerprint patterns on my hand when nothing else was around, I've used a wooden fence, all sorts of things as long as the had a decent pattern. I say pattern, but maybe texture would be a better word.

So, look at your hand in the dream. Close your eyes, maybe just for a moment, open them and reclaim clarity by studying your hand. Don't worry at all about the dreamscape. The dreamscape is nothing. Close your eyes, open them, study your hand. DO NOT THINK ABOUT WAKING UP! Just concentrate on your hand. Close your eyes, still thinking about your hand, open your eyes. Wash Rinse Repeat as needed!

I know there are many different ways LDers maintain there lucidity. I have found this technique great because you can practice spiritual and consciousness growth because of the mind focus. Spinning around in circles doesn't keep your mind focused, etc.

Also, I meditate. So I use the exact method of my meditation in the lucid dream. I prepare myself in the dream, mentally, for meditating. So I am really not thinking about anything else. When I close my eyes in the dream, it is just like when I do it for regular meditation.

You have to let me know what you experience. I have found it nearly impossible to find anyone that can do it because of the control you have to have.

First you need to be an accomplished LDer. Then you need to easily stabilize the dreamstate. Then you need to meditate. Then, if something starts happening, you have to remember to not get excited or you will wake up.

Now when I do it, I will get vibrations, extremely strong winds, accelerating movement, a rushing sound, and then a release. Then I am a point of consciousness somewhere VERY real.

You got it. This is one of the first times I tried it. I don't remember the dream I was in when I attained lucidity, but I sat down when I became lucid. Closed my eyes and cleared my mind. I had a thought that I would let my subconscious have free reign on whatever was going to happen. When my mind was in a trance state (inside the lucid dream!) I began to get very strong vibrations through my entire body. The vibrations feel very physical. As they increase in frequency a rushing sound begins, very loud. Then there is a sensation of movement, of acceleration. When I first started this I would get too excited and I would wake up. I had to practice not to get too excited. I also used to keep my eyes (dream eyes) closed because when you open them in this state I would see the dreamscape rushing by in black and white. Fuzzy like static on a TV screen. I would wake up because it would excite me too much. Acceleration of movement, of the rushing sound, and of the vibration frequency will keep going for what seems like about 20 seconds. Then, there is sort of a release. And everything smoothly stops.

For the first few years that I was doing this practice, I would still have a dream body. Now, I am only a point of consciousness. In all honesty, I think I am leaving my physical body, and then my etheric body, until I am pure consciousness without structure.

Anyway, here is one of my first ones. I believe letting your subconscious (higher self) direct you will bring you to experiences that have a specific purpose that you are in need of.

Sometime 1997
I stand on the beach, with small waves lapping on the sand. It is dark out and everything is tinged in a deep purple save for the sand which is a brilliant glowing blue. The sky overhead is a luminescent with a vast amount of stars and what look like the Milky Way Galaxy as crisp and clear as possible.
I become lucid and immediately want to try a new experience of practicing meditation while lucid in a dream. I sit down on the sand cross legged and close my eyes. Strange that immediately upon closing my eyes I become extremely aware of my mind as bi-local, or being in two places at one time; lying on my bed, and here, meditating on a beautiful beach at night in a dream. I push that thought away and begin clearing my mind of all thought.
I feel a presence. I open my eyes and stand. Someone/thing is standing above me. I cannot recall what it looked like. It didn’t speak but instead motioned me to follow. We walk down a path winding through the sand dunes and enter a cave. The interior is lit with an orange light illuminating without a source. To our right a ramp leads up towards an archway, above which is a sculpture of an eye etched from the rock wall of the cave itself. The eye was very reminiscent what you would see on the back of a dollar bill. I know I am to go through the archway, under what I thought of as my third eye. I walk the stone ramp, underneath the eye I pass. Suddenly I lose my footing and I’m sliding down a slippery ‘tunnel slide’ that has the texture and look of loose skin. It startles me, but doesn’t yet scare me.
When I come to a stop I find myself in a tiny room, the size of a small shower. On all six sides I am surrounded by the texture/feel of skin flowing like a thick curtain. Again, there is a subtle light illuminating the tiny area, but I haven’t thought of its source for I am beginning to panic. Everywhere I place my hand, my foot, everywhere I push it gives slightly like elastic. I am really scared now as there is no way out. The panic taking place overrides the knowledge that I am in a dream and I feel as if I am to suffocate and die in this place. It is unending. I run my course. The realization of the utter uselessness of ‘panic’ hits me. There is nothing to be gained in the fear. It has gotten me nowhere. And when the fear of enclosure dissipates, I am released. I slow down and slump to the ‘floor’. A feeling somewhat of resignation, a giving up, almost like a touch of guilt takes place but is quickly replaced by a feeling of complete peace. A feeling like that of a close friend is there, and will always be there. The walls, the ceiling, the floor… fall away. I am infused by a blissful euphoria, floating in no-time. There is nothing around. Fear seems to be a historic past. I remember asking myself how I could possibly be afraid of anything that is so… so wise, so teaching, so… How can a dream make me feel so childish, so full of the obscene/hurtful emotion of fear? I float there for an indeterminable amount of time. Slowly I open my eyes-

Space shuttle beside highway. Actually it is a fake. It is a conspiracy. Will and I were privy to it. I tell Will I don’t want to lie about this, lie to the people. I can’t figure out how to do it without the conspirators denying it.
I follow them to a facility with others to get evaluated or something. I pause, say, “Screw it,” turn around and leave the building telling the receptionist that I need to call my wife.
I hop on a bike and race away. A man in a suit catches up with me and asks why I am leaving, why I am doing this… I refuse to believe anything he has to say. I am not frightened of him. I just don’t want to be near him. I keep telling him that I wouldn’t believe whatever he had to say, so he might as well leave me alone. Somehow I get away from him.
I climb a wall and escape out into another land (it looks like I-4 and I-95). I am with about 5 other people in a van. We meet six black skinned men who believe they don’t have souls or spirits. There is nothing I can do for them. It seems they do not want any help. We leave them at the side of this highway and I keep driving.
We stop at some kind of fair or something. There is a creek beside a walk. I become lucid at this moment. I tell the people that are with me that we are all dreaming. They cannot understand that we are all dreaming. They look very dazed and confused. I take them down to the creek. The water is cold. I step into the water and they follow me without saying anything. Some are able to keep their heads above water. Some are really struggling. Finally all are able to keep their heads above water.
A black van pulls up. The back door opens up and there are the six black skinned men. Once again, they have no emotion. One of them comes up to me and tries sticking a spongy black rod about an inch and half thick into my “eye”. I gently stop him and tell the men that they must have spirit because they are in my lucid dream.
Brief transition and I try to go into the sky while I am lucid. I can’t. I walk to a flat spot on the ground. Spread my arms wide. Vibrations start. But I don’t feel that I am going anywhere. I remembered a technique from meditating where it is like looking for your third eye inside your mind. Vibration turns to rushing. I am moving extremely fast. I stay calm and ride it. I feel like I am jerked apart, much like the popping people report, but this was really intense. The landscape rushing by beneath me looks like a static filled black and white television screen.
Then I am at another place/plane. I am a point of consciousness. This feels much different than I am used to.
It looks like ancient city, but not at all in ruins, though no one is here. After immediately arriving I hear a voice, loud, strong, but very monotone. I can’t remember what he says, except that, “You will help us.” He is talking the entire time I am there, so he had said a lot, but I can’t remember.
It seems twilight. There are rows of stone columns. Colors are bronze and twilight and the green of vegetation and darkness of wrought iron. The row of columns leads to a tall, thin structure: a tower. Behind the tower and at the top glows an extremely bright light that I can barely look at. Luckily the tower is blocking the most intense part of the light.
I think about where I should go and decide to head closer to the tower and the light. I make it to the bottom of the tower, and wake up.

Seems to me like your subconscious is trying to talk to you.

I'll be able to give a more decent point of view on your experience when I have gone further in my dream travels. As of yet, I have not attained lucidity and recalled it.

After thinking it over a bit more, my opinion is that since you've gained a point of consciousness and not so much a "dream body", your subconscious is allowed to lead you along... but since you are lucid, you are seeing everything with the utmost clarity.

When most people are lucid, the plot stops. In fact, whenever people still have a plot but are aware they are dreaming, they seem to call it a lower level of lucidity. Perhaps your lucidity is simply higher?

Yes, that's my view on this experience also. That it is my subconscious mind guiding me.

I might try it some day, it's always seemed like a waste of time because I'm not that spiritual, but no doubt it would probably be much more interesting then meditation well awake which can be boring if your not prone to feeling interesting things.

So cool! :bravo: My entire reason for learning how to LD is to meditate during them.

Thank you so much for posting, I'm glad to hear from someone who has been successful with this idea and practice. I've read or heard somewhere that there is/was a teacher named Carlos Castaneda who has a practice called the Art of Dreaming. For some reason I think there may have been a certain type of meditation in this technique. I'm not too sure, though.

I look forward to sharing some of my experiences once I've gotten skilled at lucid dreaming!

Thanks Brianabri! It has been quite an amazing trip I've been on over the years. I own The Art of Dreaming and have read it. Nothing about meditation per se, but it would depend on what you mean by meditation. There are some types of focused thoughts and intents Don Juan teaches Carlos, but nothing in comparison to Eastern types of meditation. Overall, I found the book interesting, but nothing of significant value for meditating in LD.

It is an extremely profound experience if you can master it. I have also found that as you grow with it, you must change with it. It goes so far beyond normal lucid dreaming that I do not understand why more people don't practice doing it. I suppose it is difficult with the multiple states of conscious awareness that is going on at the same time, but it is worth the ride!

Good luck with it, and don't stop reaching for it. The experience down the road is indescribable.

Are the vibrations like what you would get in the begining stages of a WILD?
I've experianced very similar feelings, then I float out of my body. At first I thought is was OBE but now I relize thats just a stage that I go through when I WILD.

I have yet to try meditation in a dream. I guess it would help to learn how to meditate in real life right?

They can be very similar. The vibes that begin to occur while meditating in LD can be much, much more intense. My vibes in WILDs (and during OBEs) are anywhere from a fine hum to a buzz. Hope you understand the difference! The vibes during sleep paralysis are a strong buzz. They are coarser and stronger. You would swear they are happening to your physical body.

Now, the vibes while meditating in LD are like a tornado. They are in sync with a loud rushing sound, like 60 MPH winds. It almost feels like something is shaking every molecule in your body. As with all of these altered states, the more they occur and the more you get used to them, the more the vibes get finer and finer in frequency.

Yes, you would have to learn how to meditate in 'real life' before you could do it while lucid. It is the same exact process. BUT! I am wondering that if you have experienced vibrations, then you are a step ahead of the game. I bet that when you become lucid, you could (instead of meditate) just focus on feeling the vibrations, trying to get them to occur while lucid. The vibrations are the key. When they occur, you are going into an altered state deeper than the one you are currently in. The vibes are the end goal.

The best way I have found to turn on the vibes, allowing your consciousness to go deeper (consciously deeper!), is to meditate while LD. I've tried a ton of different LD body positions, you know, sitting down, laying down, etc. and by far the most successful one is floating. I spread my arms, look at the sky about 45 degrees from the horizon, raise up on my tippy-toes, and barely push off. (This takes some practice in flying). I completely clear my mind and close my dream body eyes. It feels a little like sensory deprivation. The vibes almost immediately start. Then I just ride them like leaf on wind. Too much emotion (excitement) and you'll feel the vibes petering out, so you have to stay clear of mind and calm. If all goes well (about half the time), you will feel an intense surge in vibrations and wind. You'll get the feeling you're hauling ass somewhere. If this happens, then you're locked, stocked and barreled! Go with it. Then, everything stops, instantly, and utterly smooth. You'll fade into a setting as a point of consciousness, no dream body or anything. That state is the holy grail for me. I have gotten to that state maybe 20 times or so and the experience is indescribable.

Brianabri, Tibettan Yogas of Dream and Sleep is one of the best techniques I've come across, though I use different and altered versions of it.

Carlos Castenada and Don Juan used the Toltec (shamanistic) dreaming technique. Don Juan referred to them as sorcerers.

I'll have to try that, sounds very cool. I don't meditate but I'll try within my dream to focuss on clearing my mind and I'll try to intiate the vibrations and see what happens from there.

This is an ancient tecnique practiced in tibet and very much like wild, you just described what happens to me when i wild, great insight though and meditation can only be beneficial to the soul, thakns for the post!!1

Are you sure you're not just entering the astral plane after the vibrations subside?

I ask this because you can go from deep meditation while completely awake and if you learn to keep your mind awake you will begin to feel those vibrations and if you go on with them you will feel your astral body begin to detach from your physical body and you are now able to explore the astral plane, which is, according to some; "realer than the real world."
