First Intentional WILD!
First off, this is a shout out to Moonbeam, adraw, and all the others in chat last night. Guess what guys? I happened to have my first intentional WILD after discussing with you guys. Thanks a bunch!
I woke up at 3:23am exactly. I had set my alarm for 3:30am (I always wake up earlier than my set alarm). I turned off my alarm so that it wouldn't disturb me later. I then took a sip of water, quickly wrote a dream in my journal, and lay back down. I tried to relax myself, make myself feel heavy.
It was probably only five or ten minutes since I started, but I thought, This is taking too long. I guess I'm just a very impatient guy. I turned over onto my stomach. This was how I usually fell asleep, so surely it would work better. I repeated to myself, I am dreaming. Do a reality check. At some point, I felt as if time had suddenly past, so I thought I had almost fallen asleep. I thought, What a perfect time to WILD!
BAM! Vibrations washed over me. I was so surpised, they were intense. At first there was no movement, but then it felt like I was falling. I started to see frightening images form. I desperately thought, Think nice thoughts! Think nice thoughts! Think about Digimon! I willed myself to start flying up and hit my ceiling to land myself in the dream. Then, the unthinkable happened. I moved. Atleast, I think I moved. I remember thinking, NO! I've ruined it! But the vibrations didn't stop. It suddenly felt like I was flying forward. I turned my head to fly Superman style, and I tried to imagine myself soaring through the sky. It didn't work. In fact, I caused the vibrations to fade. Now I've done it, I screwed it all up! But something felt, different. This strange feeling could only mean one thing...
I did the nose RC. Hey, I'm dreaming! I got up and took my eyemask off. My room was almost the same, there were some slight differences. But generally, I was so surprised by the accuracy and level of detail. I felt a little scared though. I think it was because the lights were off (although it wasn't as dark what it should have been). I said, "Lights on!" and clapped. It didn't work. I think another reason I was scared was because some of the residual images from SP had carried over into the dream. I blinked my eyes, and they were gone. I desperately got up and ran over to turn on my lights. On the way over, I tripped on a stool. Oh sh*t! No no NO! This will NOT be a nightmare! I got up and flicked the switch. What do you know? It worked! I was so relieved. I turned to open the door, when my dad opened it from the other side. "Whoa!" I said as he almost bumped into me. "Oh, hi Sean," he said. "Hey Dad!" I replied. I went back into my room. The blinds of my window were still closed. I grabbed the rod to open them, and turned it. It started to open, but then got all disfigured. Meh, I thought. In the centre of my room on my floor lay my guitar. I picked it up and grabbed my pick. "Dad, come here! I want to show you something," I yelled. No reply. "DAD!" I yelled again. "What?" he answered back. Ah hell, I thought. I tried to play the intro to a song. The strings sounded odd. I then remembered, Right, drop D tuning! I picked the D string, then my E string. But when I turned the tuning peg for the E string, they suddenly stopped vibrating. I put my guitar down and left my bedroom.
Fast forward a few minutes. I'm also posting this in my DJ with everything in it.
I was in my kitchen, when suddenly my brother bounded in. "Hey Sean!" he said. "Whoa, [Brother's name]! Dude, we're dreaming!" I recalled that he was a natural LD'er. "Yeah I know," he said. We went our own ways in the dream however.
The dream ended a few minutes later. I just wanted to post that part because I'm going to check up with him later. Possible shared dream?
Your replies are appreciated, as always. Man, I'm so pumped over what happened. I just don't understand one thing.
There were three instances where I was lying in bed: before the WILD, when I entered the dream, and when I woke up. I was in the exact same position for each one. So how do you explain the movement I did while in SP? Was I just hallucinating? It seemed sort of dreamy then now that I think about it, but I'm sure it was a genuine WILD. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Just asked my brother a few minutes ago. Nope, I wasn't in his dream. Unless he just can't recall it, my WILD was pretty early in the morning.
Edit: It's the second night, and I successfully WILDed again.

From what I've heard, light switches rarely work in dreams.
Although, now that I think of it. That probably only applys to regular dreams.
Congrats on the lucid :)

Anything will work in dreams. You just have to know it will work. Any sort of doubt will cause things to not work or behave as they should.
-
Congratz!
Sounds like a really vivid dream, I am glad you had success with your first WILD! The shapes you mentioned sound really creepy. I would have woken up if it was me in a vivid dream that was close to a nightmare.
Nice job and good luck!
-
Wow congrads! I'm also really eager to know if it was a shared dream, I'm really interested in that kinda stuff!:)
-
Congrats! I haven't had a wild yet, only tried twice though... My first sp was after lying still a long while, then like you taking a comfortable position and then it happened. Maybe because I always turn before I fall alseep...
-
Your SP feels like waves? Weird :P
Good job on the WILD! :)
btw, my Sleep Paralisis feels like .. uh. numb/heavy but without the 'vibes' lol
-
Thanks for the replies, guys!
I'm still wondering why I seemed to be able to move during SP, or whether I was already dreaming at that point? If anyone is able to answer this for me, it would be appreciated!
-
It's hard to tell and I'm not expert but how much did you move? I can raise my arm to scratch ex my ear and keep the SP going in every other area of my body but the arm I moved. If you just moved a little tiny bit, you might just be a heavy sleeper. If you moved a lot, it's possible you were already asleep.
HTH.. :)
-
Yeah, I only moved my arm, then my head. Maybe I was already asleep though. Any other thoughts?
-
Congrats on the WILD. Hopefully i'll strike my first WILD tonight :)
-
 Good job, Sean! I'm glad our talk inspired you! I had one night before last, so I guess it does help.
Of course, it took me one and a half hours, not three seconds....:furious:
That was great, I hope it was the first of many. :)
-
I am the one to be having WILD next night :D
-
wait a minute, how long did it take you to wild? u make it sound like it took u 5 mins... and here is a question 4 every1: When you have a lucid dream, and you start dreaming, does a real dream start in a random place or do you always just walk out of bed like an OBE?
-
I don't know exactly how long I was lying for, maybe about 20 minutes. For my first WILD, there was a brief lapse in consciousness because I almost fell asleep. When I regained consciousness, I immediately entered SP.
For my second WILD (last night), I don't think there was a lapse in consciousness, and SP was much quicker.
For your other question, dreams usually start in a random place. Maybe we do start at our bodies and we just don't remember. But generally, it's a random starting point.
-
@blueblue79, as I've only had 1 WILD, when I opened my eyes, I wasn't in my room I was in a city-ish area. I don't think I've ever had a dream starting in my own bed. So, usually my dreams start in random places, which I believe are modelled after things in my life, because they are usually very similar to something with minor or major differences in some areas.
-
ok, :thanks: for answering my question :)
-
It appears as if most people start out their wild where they fell asleep...
I have to ask, from the time vibrations came, how long until you were in a dream?
-
It took maybe 25 seconds to enter the dream from the vibrations. It was very fast, and took very little effort. It may have been less than 25 seconds.
-
Jeez, thats preety cool that you had your WILD. Im still struggling with mine. I cant seem to saty awake. I just fall asleep. :P
