last night i closed my eyes and thought about my body sinking into my bed and i felt myself going numb and my eyes felt like they were in REM sleep but i opened my eyes and i stopped i then tried to picture where i wanted to go with the whole sinking feeling but my mind wondered and i didnt have an LD.
am i heading in the right direction to LD or what should i do?

Most of the time WILDs end up with a false awakening, actually "Stepping into" a dream is far more difficult. Just keep your eyes closed until you've past sleep paralysis (you should feel like you're on a roller coaster kind of) and then open then and do a reality check after that feeling has subsided.
