I have had 4 WILDS where I have flew up into the atmosphere and tried to get to space, and they all end at the instant where my mind would have to start to show me space and the upper atmosphere.
I kept trying cause I really wanted to just see what my mind would imagine.
2 of the times I had very good control and was 100% into the dream.
Any other ideas? Maybe I should just explore something else?
I think you should definately stick at it, i've never tried to get that high myself but it sounds like it would be incredible.
I know heaps of people here at DV have managed it so hopefully some of these people post.
How familiar are you with space etc?... perhaps your brain has trouble creating visuals of it for you because it doesnt have much knowledge to draw on.
Yeah keep at it! And I want to know about it when you succeed.:) Exploring space is something I've always wanted to do while Lucid as well. But every time I try it I only get so far. Because no matter how fast it feels like I'm flying the earth won't get any farther away. I get just short of my goal, then it seems like the earth follows me.
Maybe if you can practice changing scenes, you can bring space to you, instead of trying to fly there. I'm going to try that sometime.

Last night I went up to a mirror, and thought of a space ship and my head hit the mirror and would not go through.
So I thought of Hawaii, and I went right through. Weird huh?

By what I've read, your mind doesn't like the idea of space. Maybe your mind isn't relaxed with it? Or, your mind naturally can't put up with it? But yeah, keep trying, I can guess why it isn't working though. But keep at it. :)
Also, rub your hands and use techniques to stay lucid if it helps. What exactly happens when your dream goes?

Interesting. I always seem to be speeding up super fast.
Maybe that is why the mirror portal concept works better. Because your brain does not have to keep up with all of the inbetween. You are just at your destination.
From what I have seen the lucidity after using the mirror concept is way stronger then just traveling around. Things look a lot more detailed.
I'm guessing you have a good dream control then?

look on the internet or read books about space for a good amount of time
as you read, imagine yourself flying to space, exploring and doing other fun stuff
keep that thought throughout the day, try to feel excited
just before you go to bed, say excitiingly "I'm going to space tonight!!" or something like it
in the dream, look up, get set, and jump with the thought of space and as you fly say "space here I come" or something like it
don't worry just fly with the intent of going to space
Presumably, as you have never visited space, and media of space is rarely seen; you would never or rarely ever be able to visit space in your dream, without it ending.
As dreaming depends on past experiences does it not?
i had an entire dream on pluto once but i can never get very far out past that or i make up random planets that are ten bajillion miles away and have never been heard of.....
Ever heard of Astral Projection? It would be easier to get a view of space that way...plus it would actually be space it wouldnt be something your mind created. Of course it might take you forever to train yourself to Astral Project...
