My first lucid dream.. *weird & sounds corny*

so i have found out about lucid dreaming on youtube lol.. and it was about 2months ago.. i started writing all my dreams right when i woke up in a notebook.. the past week i havnt been writing them down, i been slacking.. but last night i had my first lucid dream. i walked passed my bathroom door and seen my grandma picking something up.. i knew right away this wasnt right because she had passed away.. she was a big part of my life so i began to freak out and say "i know this is a dream" i walked over to one end of my couch and my mom was on the other side.. i kept saying "make it stop!" "i know this isnt real" sounds corny but i was scared shitless lol. so i dont remember what my mom said but i remember things began to fade and its really hard to describe how i felt but i sort of felt dizzy and stuff was blurry.. then i woke up.. but it seemed like a dream that i could not get out of so i was flipping out.. maby next time i will notice i am lucid dreaming and everything is fine lol.. can somebody tell me why i couldnt wake myself up?

Congratulations On your first Lucid Echo! And Welcome to Dream Views!

That's cool that you recognized that dreamsign. I got Lucid when I saw my Dad in a dream once. he is gone too. I forgot to actually talk to him though.

I don't know about trying to wake yourself up. I've never wanted to wake up from a lucid before. Next time try to remember to relax and fun with it. No need to get worried, you will wake up soon enough.

      Congrats on your LD ^^

When i LD and dislike the setting. I get outside and keep on flying towards the sky. After you fly above the clouds, you can glide back down and find a different setting. I like this technique because you have more control of where you land, compared to a dream-spin/teleport.

Sounds like you where in the early stages of ur dream (sleep paralysis). It can be scary trying to wake yourself up when you dont know what happens as you are inbetween sleeping and not sleeping. for many years I had it and didnt know what it was and I used to have the most intense experience's ever.

if u wanna lucid dream you gotta relax when you start to get scared and just flow with whatever is happening (intense noises and feeling in your body), once you learn to go with the flow and realise that its not scary you can start teaching yourself many things and thats when the fun begins.

most likley it will take time because when you push the early stages of a dream it can become very intense the longer it goes on, but that is just the process you go through if u wanna induce a lucid dream (for me anyway).

      take it easy

Well, congratulations on your first LD Echo! .

Don't worry about that fear you had in your LD, It's very common for beginners, I for one was scared as hell in the first few LDs but eventually trough time I got used to LDing and that fear just passed away. I'm sure you will do fine.
As for how often I LD, well about once a month . But before that, the interval was much longer because I haven't considered LDing until I found out about this site . It's all about experience, you just have to get used "living" in your mind.

Oh, and, welcome to the forums
