      Talking to dream constructs

So it came to a point in my dream last night when a small group of 'characters' and I happened to be sitting in a circle on a lawn outside of a school building. I figured that was a good oppurtunity to talk to them and I said aloud, "I'm dreaming right now. Who else here is a dreamer?"

The answers were interesting. Most of them said that they weren't dreamers, but wouldn't say what they were. A few admitted they were dream constructs. One said, "Dreaming? What's that?" and two of them had their mouths open in surprise and said that they were dreamers.

My theory is that those who said they were not dreamers were either dream constructs who didn't want to admit it, or something else entirely. The ones that said they were dream constructs also said that they weren't real, which makes me wonder... are they? If they're aware enough to tell me that they aren't real, doesn't that make them real? The one that asked what dreaming was could have been a young lucid dreamer. Other than that, her answer puzzled me. I suspect that the two who said they were dreamers may have been fellow lucid dreamers that were aware of it, but didn't know that others were aware of it.

      Any thoughts?

You're making my head spin. Like you, every time I think of something, the Nasty What-If pops its head up.

Did you ask their names? Can a dream construct that has no self-awarness create a name for itself?

It was definately interesting. I wish you could have actually seen the reactions I got to that question. I can't accurately describe body language and the look in someone's eye. This dream certainly presented me (us?) with more questions.

Hmm, mabey dream characters are not actually constructs but mabey they are spirits of some sort? Im not saying I belief this but im leaving all options open, lol

or what if the other characters were in fact just objects of other "characters" dream, and you got sucked into it?

      hmmm, crazy stuff.

Imagine your brain as a canister filled with ink, yeah, now think of your body as the pen where the ink resides

      lol
I have never asked that question ever. Kinda funny actually, how characters have reacted to both of you who have questioned them. Last night I was talking to a friend who died a month ago. I was crying and everything. Pretty cool to see him but very sad too. I knew he had past on and was fully aware of my dream state.

Im going to try that asap.
