First Attempt In Ages

Haven't posted much, so here's a quick overview of my LD experience. Several months ago a friend of mine and I got really into lucidity for a couple of weeks, my friend with little luck but myself with mixed results (a few promising false awakenings). Well, I'm going through another phase, I suppose, and last night I decided to give it another try, the first try in months.

I laid down after a spoonfull of peanut butter to attempt a FILD. I wasn't all that tired, but I decided to get to bed anyway. Although I read that FILDing is best attempted after waking up near ones REM period, I was bored and decided to try it shortly after laying on my stomach to sleep. For whatever reason I became overwhelmed by sleep and quickly drifted off.

Now I have experienced a variation of "the vibrations" before, and I did again last night. My experience with the sensation is less exciting as alarming. I get an overall strange feeling in which my body locks up, vibrates a bit, and then suddenly dissapates. I imagine my discomfort is mainly because I'm not used to it, but it still gets to me.

However, I soon found myself in my room, exactly as I had fallen asleep in it. It was vividly real, being identical to the real thing. I knew I was asleep, but in my dream my girlfriend, who sleeps with me, was alarmed by state. In times past when I attempted to LD, I would get alarmed by the vibrations, because it really frightened me the first two times, and snapped awake, exhaling loudly and jerking straight up in bed. This, to say the least, suprised my bed mate, and I've been hesitant to try it with her in bed because I don't want to alarm her. I believe this is why she was alarmed in my dream.

Regardless, I rationalized her words in my dream. I decided that she must have woken up when I went into the vibrations and was talking to me while I was asleep. In my dream I apologized, decided not to go through with the dream, and told her I would wake up to end things. I then forced myself awake, just to see my Bre fast asleep.

I'm still not sure if I ever really woke up or not. I'm going to try and WILD tonight in the living room to ensure I won't bother her, so my mind might be more at ease.
