First time... kinda lucid

So I was dreaming (I think) and i just thought I should do a reality check, but then i thought to myself 'no, if I move my hands I will wake myself up' (thinking about moving my real hands) so that is when I realised I was dreaming. so then I managed to bring up my dream hands and look at them but they looked perfectly normal. and then i started losing it, so i tried shouting 'increase lucidity' but it didnt work and i lost it.

I would be perfectly sure that it was a dream but I dont remember there being any type of surrounding or anything, just black. So this is where I think maybe i was just thinking about it rather than it being a dream, but surely I would know if I was thinking about it?

So if I was having a lucid dream would I still be conscious about my real body?

Ive only had about 8 or 10 lucid dreams, the first one in about 5 years last night, and every time ive become lucid I know it without a doubt. My body becomes consumed with a feeling of joy and it feel like it is radiating from me. All of mine are by accident though so someone else may be able to help you with the specifics. Thanks.
