My Very First Lucid Dream

Just a few days ago I had my very first lucid dream. I had given up on the forums and stuff for a while. Because of my work schedule it is difficult for me to record my dreams all the time, having to leave early in the morning and such, and sometimes I don't get enough sleep, but now I'm back in action!

The dream started off when I was playing a game - something that seemed to be from the Myst series. I was playing in the first person - not through a computer, but actually venturing on a foreign island. I was in the center of a circle of large, semi-smooth stones, each carved out as a prison that went partway below the ground. Inside, prisoners were being held, and they couldn't escape because the cells were electrified. In the center of the circle there was a clock. On each of the stones, there was a clock above the bars holding the prisoners back. The clocks all read different times, and one clock was mildly disassembled, with floating pieces, with a spiral across its face. The clocks were simple in nature - two hands, twelve pegs, all a dull, metallic gray. I somehow knew that the clocks gave the secret as to how long the prisoners had left to live, and you could decipher it through the clock in the center of the circle.

I didn't know what to do in the puzzle, but I figured since the prisoners were going to die within a time limit, I should set one of them free. I went over to one cell and disconnected the cable that drew up electricity into the stone. He or one of the other prisoners was explaining that I didn't know what I was doing, and that I would bring ruin to the world. At first scared, thinking I had made the wrong move in the game, I wondered what to do next, but then thought that nobody would say something so drastic unless I had done the right thing.

The prisoner had dark hair, sort of curly, that stood partway from his head. It was almost black, and he had light skin. He wore a dark blue robe - somewhere between navy and a rich, deep sea blue.

I don't know how I got to where I went next (dream sign), but I was suddenly in an office with him and another man. Apparently, the island was not a game. It was some sort of parallel world that people stumbled upon by accident. Most of the time, he and the other man acted, making people think it was a game so that when they finally stumbled back into our world, they would just discard the thought of its existence and keep going.

The colors in the world were beautiful. I loved it there.

I can't remember if the next part of my dream was in the parallel world or in my world, but ultimately it ended up becoming a part of my world.


I took up a job at a local store that in real life sells only frozen yogurt, but in my dream sold more food. It was in a location very close to the location in real life. While I was working there, I would go outside and perform demonstrations, cook food, clean tables, etc...

My mother and brother came by to see me at work and they saw me cooking food on a flame grill outside. The colors in the store were bright and beautiful - pinks and golds and such, and the sky was incredible outside. This is why I at first thought that it was a part of the parallel world.

My friends from high school would come by and eat there in the afternoons when I was working. I saw two people that although I'm not close to mean very much to me in a sense, and then a third person with whom I have a rather strange relationship. I greeted the first person, the second person sat down and I had some discussion segue, and the third person sat down and I explained something important to him. I told him about the place where people stumble, this other world that is beautiful.

I told him that I thought I could make it back, and that the more you go there, the easier it is to find your way back.

I thought I was trying to convince him, but I was only trying to convince myself. It was too good to be true. It must have been a dream.

At that point I realized that I was dreaming. The whole thing - everything was a dream. I was disappointed as I sat in my chair across from him, the bright sun pouring in through the window from his back. I wished so much that I was right, that I could go back to this phenomenal world and enjoy something different for a change.



But the fact of the matter is, I can. The more you dream, the more you remember, the easier it is to remember. The easier it is to remember your dreams and eventually gain control of them, allowing you to go to places that really can only exist in fantasy. I want to go back.
