      Long, vivid LD last night

I normally don't post my dreams in here, but last night I had the longest and most vivid LD I've ever had. It followed two odd but failed WILD attempts, which I described in "Attaining Lucidity". Here goes:

I was taking a shower but it wasn't quite working out, so I decided to go take a bath. I lay there and opened the coloured comics from a newspaper, and one of the comics consisted of actual toys that I could remove and play around with. I then got out and decided to do the breathing-through-pinched-nose RC. I could breathe, though I still didn't believe I was dreaming. I looked at my watch and there were small numbers circling the outside. I remembered a few of them, looked away, and looked back again, and they changed. I did this several times, because I was amazed at how clear the tiny numbers were even though I was dreaming.

I then wanted to try eating something, and decided upon chocolate. I opened my fridge to a huge bag of chocolates, and grabbed a small box of M&M's. They tasted so real, and so good! I wondered if I was eating because my "real" body was hungry, but then decided that wasn't the case.

Next I told a couple family members that I was dreaming, and they didn't believe me. I told them I'd stop time to prove it. I tried, but failed. I then found a clock behind me and focussed on the second hand, trying to make it stop. It jumped when I looked away and looked back, but it wouldn't stop. I opened the glass face of the clock and grabbed the second hand, trying to keep it still, but it kept going. Oh well.. this was my second time trying to stop/slow down time, and I guess I wasn't confident enough yet.

I decided to start keeping track of what I did in my dream so that I could more easily remember it when I woke up. I paused for a bit and went over everything, repeating it to myself. I kept doing this throughout the dream.

Then came dinner. I was sitting around eating with my family, and apparently we were eating noses, because suddenly my dad said "Ewww! These are our noses!" I looked down, and noticed I had my dad's nose on my plate. My brother said "I'm never gonna eat noses again!" I was kind of disgusted at this point, so I flew out the window and stayed outside in the air for a bit.

I went back inside, and then attempted to do a multiplication of two large numbers, as this is something I've wanted to do for a while. Immediately upon thinking of the numbers I woke up.

...or at least I thought. I found myself outside a dark warehouse, with Bif Naked's song "Spaceman" playing somewhere. Bif Naked came running around the corner, horribly upset, and I could feel every bit of her agony myself. We hugged each other and collapsed to the ground in grief. (BTW, I don't have any special "thing" for her, I just kinda like that one song.) This is when I woke up for real.

I decided to record this all right away in my journal, but then fell asleep. I saw a yellow Jeep with bushes in front and a tree to the left. I was painting the scene on a large canvas, thinking that I was recording my previous dream by doing this. When I was about half way done painting the tree, I woke up and finally recorded everything for real.

So that's it.. just thought I'd share because it was so vivid and so long - there's some things I left out, plus other things I know I forgot, and there seemed to be at least a half hour of lucidity. I know others experienced much more, but that's a record for me . I particularly remember how fascinated I was at how clear the numbers on my watch were.. I always assumed numbers that small would be blurry. I also find it neat that I actually repeated what had happened to me throughout the dream so that I could remember when I woke up.

Anyway, thanks for reading such a long post!

Wow, that was so much fun to read. You're a very articulate writer. I probably couldn't have made it through such a long post if you didn't know how to write well. XD Haha, I love the noses part. *sigh* Can't wait till I have my first LD... Love your sig, btw. Douglas Adams rocks!!!

Wow! Congratulations! That sounds like a spectacular lucid experience. How long would you say that it lasted in dream terms... a couple of hours or 15-30 minutes or something like that?

Thanks for the compliments, Rain . Yeah, the noses part was pretty darn funny in hindsight .

And don't worry, you'll get an LD soon enough. As long as you really want to and you keep practising the techniques I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later. Good luck! (and yes, Douglas Adams does rock )

      Hezekiah:
I'd say in dream terms it lasted about 30 mins (I said that in the post, but you probably missed it . But that's just a rough guess.. there's stuff I don't remember so I'd say anywhere from 15 to 45 mins.
