Lucidity, Flying, Darkself, Dreamguide?
This was taken directly from my dream journal...
A Dream in Which I Find Myself Lucid Once More
Whenever we strayed too far from the house, she came to collect us and bring us back. We thought it to be annoying, while in reality, she was being protective.
There is something there. Deep in the dark recesses of my mind and imagination. Something horrible. I can feel it. It is hungry, and it needs to be fed.
I looked out from the woman's balcony. A large field lay ahead of me, bordered by a forest, and a steep cliff that dropped off into the ocean. I noticed one of my acquaintances stumbling across the field, trying to get away. The old crone was gaining on her, attempting to bring her back to the cottage. The air seemed to shimmer around my peer.
The lady was scolding me. She began to recite a ritual. I could feel the darkness enveloping me. I could feel it in the air.
I stood before myself. Doubled, and abnormally sinister. It wasn't me, yet it was. It was all the horrible and dark thoughts and ideas from the back of my head that collected to form a living breathing reproduction of myself.
I was outside. It was dark, but there was a light that was mysteriously being cast from an unknown origin. The dark silhouette of a tree loomed before me. Dark figures like Dementors hovered in the air at the top of the tree, waiting.

They swooped back and forth as I came closer. The figures shrieked towards me. Being lucid, I turned, and without looking back, launched myself into the air. Soaring, I flew up above my house. Then I started falling towards the ground again, but swooped just in time, like Mario with a winged cap. Unfortunately, my swooping low to the ground was my downfall. My dark self turned out to be following me. He was running just below me, waiting for the low swoops and then he would jump at me snarling.
I finally dropped back down to Earth in my neighbor's field. My dark self was nowhere to be seen.
I was back in the cottage. The lady was to my right. My dark self burst into the room, and instantly I summoned a forcefield around him, keeping him cut off. He threw himself against the shield in anger.
Just speculating here, but the old lady in my dream could very well be my dream guide. Or she could very well not be. That's why it's a speculation.
Anyways, why I think this is because she was herding me and a couple smart DC's into one place. She was protecting us against the bad stuff in my mind (Nightmares?). Referring to a previous entry, this lady could be Mr./Mrs. Shields. She was definitely shielding us, although it could just be a coincidence that her name is similiar to her nature. Who knows? Maybe that's not Mr./Mrs. Shields.
Never hurts to wonder.

Mr./Mrs. Shields?
I had just finished talking with a man in a Panera Bread. There were people gathering outside in the parking lot. I walked outside into the lot. The people were staring at a truck. A member of the throng went up to it and tried to put their hand on it. It passed right through. The mob was frightened and bewildered. They eventually dispersed as time went on. The man I had been talking to walked behind the truck and chuckled. I walked over to him only to find an elaborate labyrinth of mirrors. I remember the man telling me adventures were about to come my way.
I walked over to the McDonald's parking lot. It was empty. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw the man. But he looked more like a woman this time, and I knew instantly that his name was Mr./Mrs. Shields. I glanced up just in time to roll out of the way of two people falling to earth. They looked like medieval warriors. They had huge swords, like those off of Final Fantasy. They were the Early Bird warriors, and they had come to kill me. They swung their swords at me and because they were so big there was a second of delay, so I rolled out of the way. This went on for quite awhile. Until I woke myself up.
What really made me think more and more about this dream was the Shields person. He or she knew I was in a dream, I could feel it. Shields was very intelligent, much more than an average DC as exampled when he fooled those other DC's to think there was a truck in the lot. Maybe Shields is my dream guide, maybe not. I can definitely see more of his appearances in the future.
I'm still not sure whether it's a man or woman. :embarrassed:
