My first true LD since coming to this board!!!

It finally happened! I have had a handfull of LD's over my life, but now i can report a fresh one! It's funny, over the last few weeks i have totally dropped my dream journal, i have been to stressed out in waking life and didn't want to sacrifice a sec of sleep to record dreams lately. I have also totally neglected doing any RCs during the day lately so this was a pleasant surprise.

It happened friday night. I'm in a bus station departure lounge with a group of people waiting on a bus. I have been sitting next to a pretty girl, talking, i assume trying to pick her up

, anyway after a while i realize it's going nowhere so i get up to leave the buliding. For no reason, and with no discernable dreamsign indicators, as i approach the doors i realize i am dreaming! I walk out the standard door/foyer/main door, i am eager to get outside where i can fly. As soon as i get out i see a parking lot, and i intentionally calm myself so i won't wake up. I keep repeating a mantra in my head " i will stay in this world, i will stay in this world". It works well and i maintain my lucidity. I can't think of anything else to do so i elect to fly. I take off and as has happened to me before i can only get about 5 feet off the ground, and have difficulty moving forward. I use a swimming motion to gain momentum and height, but it is slow going at first. I see a lamp post in the parking lot and decide to fly to the top of it. I soar effortlessly up to it and alight on the top of the post, from where i can survey the whole parking lot. It is very cool and i experience the sense of heightned reality and very clear perception of my surroundings as described by many lucid dreamers. I see a highway just north of the parking lot, and i hear big transport trucks speeding by. I realize that the trucks i am hearing are actually real trucks outside my real bedroom, (my room is close to a busy road), but this does not awaken me, i just accept this simple realization. I zoom down to the highway with the intent of jumping on top of a speeding vehicle for a ride "matrix" style. At this point i start to lose it and can't get up enough speed to jump onto a vehicle, i awaken shortly after. If only i had remembered to do the spinning technique. Oh well!

I realize this may be a pretty pedestrian LD compared to some off the amazing ones i have read on this board, but it was still pretty cool to me.

Take heart those who havn't had an LD yet. If i can do it anyone can!

pity you couldn't grab the car, that would have been cool.

I am feeling very fortunate today, the time i spent making this thread must have influenced me becasue i had an even more startling and profound LD last night.
