      Interesting false awakening

I just thought id share this experience since i thought it was rather interesting. The other morning i woke up from bed just like any other morning. as i got up and started walking towards the door i noticed a giant wooden looking growth with spikes growing from my ceiling. I instantly realised i was dreaming and when i looked around the room again everything was suddenly so eerie and strangely horrifying. Next thing i knew i woke up again thinking about the experience.. I immediately walked downstairs to tell my mom who is takes great interest in my dreaming practices. It was only after a while of talking to her that i realised my mom is away till the end of the week and that i was still dreaming at this point i took a moment to look around and contemplate how real and clear everything seemed. It was definitly the most lucid i have ever been in terms of seeing clearly. soon after that i woke up for real..

i think its interesting because i have just read in one of carlos castanedas books that if one goes to sleep in a dream to wake up in other dream it leads to a lucid experience so clear it is indistinguishable from reality. Maybe this was similar to what happens sometimes with a false awakening..
      any thoughts?

It is possible. I have countless false awakenings in the mornings and they can lead to some very vivid and amazing lucids.

oh completely, it happened to me last night. I had two very confusing FA's that unfortunately ended my REM period.

Many of my LDs, and pretty much all of my WILDs, have started as, or included, FAs.

I've even had strings of FAs, and I agree: The more you have in a single dream, the more vivid it becomes.

If you can catch them, they often turn into amazingly vivid LDs.

Mine were actually DILD, more of a nightmare than a dream. I specifically remember being somewhat more aware than usual in the dream at two different points throughout the dream.

He he. . I see that in your dream you told your mom about your dream. You must really be into dreams if you did that. I've done that before. It was more like a dream scene change then a false awakening though. I am really into dreams now, so I never used to tell people about my dreams while I was dreaming. I don't get why so many people don't think dreams are fascinating. If they got a couple of vivid LD, then they'd know what they're missing.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I don't usually talk about my LD either
