      First lucid dream in awhile.

I had stopped doing most of the exercises required for lucid dreams after disappointing results. However I was rather surprised by actually having one last night. I don't recall all the bits before and after the lucid part, but mainly it picked up in the old house I grew up in.
I was fumbling around because my alarm clock said 12pm and I thought I was late for work. However I looked outside and saw it was dark so I glanced back at the clock and realized it now said 2 am. I thought something was fishy here so I walked into the bathroom and looked at my reflection. Everything was a bit off, so I looked down at my hands and started telling myself that I was dreaming and then whoosh, lucid.
I glanced up at the mirror and decided to try and change myself while looking at my reflection, since self-transformation is something I am always trying to attempt. I was aiming for a human-gargoyle type thing. Wings, claws, tail, etc. It was really tough though. I had to focus on body parts one at a time, trying to will them to change, but had a very tough time of it.
Other parts of my body would shift back when I wasn't focusing on them, and sometimes whole parts of me would just flat out disappear. I finally managed to make a few changes, specifically some wings so I leapt out the window to try and fly but just couldn't manage it.
The best I could do was glide downwards. I kept leaping around like an idiot trying to do it, even climbing trees for height and then trying, but nothing. I think it was kind of interesting as I struggled with my minds own doubts about what I was capable of doing in the dream.
It reminded me of the Matrix. I eventually woke up.

At least you managed to glide, last night I barely levitated and then fell through the ground.

I must try self-transformation the next chance I get, sounds fascinating. Usually anytime I get a clear perception of myself in a dream it's a nightmare, with things distorting and bits falling off or worst of all I get holes in my face. Dont get me started on my penis dreams.

      Weird shit.

Beyond that I think there's some similarities between our dreams, I got my first ever lucid out of the blue after a long while of trying very hard and then just giving up. I also tried to fly without much success.
What do you think it was that set yours off?

I haven't had an actual nightmare in so long... never been lucid from one of those.

Heh, being a gargoyle would be different. You could try putting a sheet over your head and call it a magic Gargoyle-infusing sheet. So if you believe it will make you part gargoyle it will.

Not sure if that would work, but you could try it.

I am not sure really. I think I had a discussion with someone about lucid dreaming a few nights before hand. I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
Its made me want to try to get back into it, its just so time consuming. A goal of mine is to achieve a successful WILD. I've never even come close though.

Hey vejita, read the "How To WILD" thread by BillyBob. Just search for it. Itīs the best guide ever. It took me a year to get my first WILD (last night), and I had it by using the method described in the thread.
