      Dream Premonition

A few months ago I woke up and told placebo of my rather weird and funny dream. Placebo is my husband and the dream was about my aunt and her family. I told Placebo that i had dreamt my aunt and her 2 children (whom are married) all lived in one of the (very upperclass) shopping malls in Sandton. I said i dreamt that she lived in a penthouse there. We were invited for dinner, we were all dressed up, and my aunt was really dressed to kill.

Well yesterday, we were invited to my cousins wedding. The reception venue was in Sandton (I have never been to this particular place before), my aunt was wearing the same outfit as in my dream, the lifts and table settings were almost identical. It was the strangest feeling. I know i was not just experiencing duju vu because i had told Placebo about my dream and we had made a joke of it.

Today I had another strange occurance. placebo went kneeboarding. This was the first time I went with him. I had an dream about our town flooding and just a particular image today was exact to my dream.

When I was in Primary school, I kept having re-occuring dreams of my school. The difference was the inside was completely changed. When I was a 13 we moved and my new school was identical to my dream. I never got lost, I knew it straight away.

I have had some strange experiences with premonitions (in the form of feelings) that have saved my life, but there were no point to the one I have had recently.
(oh yes, I only got the wedding invitation after the dream)

Has this happened to anyone else?

first its nice to meet the wife of placebo, welcome

anyway, ive had one like that but only once and not as powerful as yours. I only dreamt of the phone ringing and the whole scene with it and then it happened.

i find the dream about your school to be amazing...never heard of something like that either. did you ever tell anyone about this before?

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard

Ultima also had an amazing premonition in the last day or so: Ultima's Premonitary Dream Thread

We should start keeping a list of these experiences, with links, or something...

The only preminition-type dreams that I know I had were when I was a lot younger. The usual "peeing in the toilet" and a few seconds later realize that YES, you were right... you wanted to pee, but confused your bed for the toilet in your dream.

I do find the idea of premonitions intriguing however. I agree with Placebo that we should keep records of those occurrences. Maybe that can help distinguish one of the things that might help trigger premonitions. One of the things that seem to be a factor is how closely related to the event will you be?

For example, how close is the relationship bwteen Anna_Mae and her cousin? If they are very closely connected and talk to each other all the time, then that might have helped trigger the premonition.

In Ultima's case, he is closely connected to the event since when it happened, he was actually driving down that same street.

Another point of view, is that the relation to the event might not be a trigger at all, but instead a requirement. For example, you wouldn't be able to have a premonition that has to do with a distant friend of yours, or that has to do with some city far from where you live.

Those are just insights from my imagination and hypothesis.

No we are not very close, but my gran died recently and I have visited my aunt alot. We live far away from the rest of our family so my aunt is trying out the idea of hanging out with her neice. I think she regrets not being closer to her sisters and mom. I recently moved here, so I am in close sontact with the family.

And yes I had asked my mom about the school dream and what happened that made me keep getting it.She laughed and said maybe I would be a teacher. (Me a teacher - hell No!!)
