Newbie: Past lucid dreams
Hi, a while ago I was on my street walking southbound and I noticed that I was dreaming, so I tested it by running and stopping suddenly. (Since you can't control what you do in nonlucid dreams I tested it) It worked. I woke up. Another night I was in my downstairs hallway and I knew I was dreaming, so I jumped up and floated and fell down, I couldn't fly. I woke up. (This was before I knew I could try to make it longer) Next one is I am in a room with my friends brother and I looked at my watch and I made it change by concentrating. I knew I was dreaming. The DC's were wanting me to jump in a bath of cold water. Next to it was the warm water. Since I knew I was dreaming and had an Idea that I should jump in the warm water. I told them "Hey you guys. I'm going to jump in the warm water." of course I did. I woke up.
That's all. I'm trying to get lucid. I've been getting good recall on my dreams the past few days, It usually happens when I want to remember them. Tonight I'm going to try the HILD technique just for fun. I'll try the WILD probably tomorrow night. Any hints or comments would be appreciated
Bye.

Bye.
I finally managed to try a HILD properly, after many days dry of lucids, and I have to say it worked! I say properly because I tried it before but found I couldn't concentrate for long enough to even get past the counting part - I find that with my eyes closed I start to automatically see images (even if I don't want to!) which makes me concentrate on them and not the counting. I find the best way to get past this is to try to focus on your eyelids and not on the images - then you will just see shapes (as you can't actually focus on your eyelids - they're too close! ). When you actually manage to get to the weights bit that's another thing you have to concentrate on! (For me, anyway, trying a HILD is like running a dream gauntlet!!) Then you have to try and imagine a chalk board (or black board as we call it in England!! :D ) and the letters and stuff - which is easier said than done!! The skywriting bit is actually pretty easy (unless I'm just focusing more by now), and the counting down to relax is actually quite nice (and relaxing!).
All in all it took me about 30 mins to do (maybe it will get quicker in time), but the next thing I remember was being lucid in a dream and it lasting at least 10 maybe 20 mins!!!
So it seems to work! I'll have to see if the subliminal "I will lucid dream EVERY night etc.." bit works, but - so far so good!
Anyway you freaks, I'm off to have a fucking pint and some pool!!
(Sorry for the swearing and insults, but I've just finished working late - it's 21:07 here and I should have finished at 17:30!!! :( )
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
