I do not want to LD...

I have loved reading these forums and have loved the interesting discussion regarding LD. I used to think i was unique, with my abillity to LD, and had never heard of it before. BUt after countless years of LD's, i found this site. And jeesee there are all sorts of terms for LD's, (LD) being one of em ;).

But anyways. Am i the only one who is experiencing not wanting to LD? I have never tried to force myself to LD, it just happend when trying to fight Night mares as a child. But now the LD's have lost their purpose and i find myself often getting annoyed when getting LD's. I have never had a urge to fly around or what ever in LD's, for me it was about survival. But now, night mares are becomming very rare, and i often find LD's comming in lovely dreams. Dreams, i wish were reality, and thus i do not WANT to know im dreaming. I often try to counter it by reversing the dream, starting at a point i can remember. Sometimes it works, other times i just wake angrily hoping i have enough time left of the night to catch another dream :).

Everyone here seems very optimistic about LD's, and im thankful ive had them, helped me alot. But they are getting abít annoying..

Am i the only one who wants dreams to remain dreams? A place where you are totally not in control of your life and where the most wonderfull and terrible things can happen?

I think I do get where you're coming from. But I can't say that I share the same view ^^ I just think I love lucid dreams for the same reason as many many others. A world where you can do absolutely everything you want, your imagination literally being the only limit, with not concequences whatsoever.

But yes, sometimes I do think it's nice just to stay back and watch a normal dream:) They can be quite interesting too, hehe. Although I must admit that I do prefer the lucid kind more ;)

The same here, I know what you mean. The problem with both of us is that we don't have an urge to LD that's driven by excitement of being "powerful" in an imaginary world. Such an urge is strong and keeps others motivated for quite a long, if not for unlimited time. If you don't have it you need something else to replace it. Judging by what you're written, you didn't find anything else to replace it with, so now you can't see any reason to LD.

But you've posted here, that means that you do want to LD in general, the concept is exciting for you in general, you only don't know what you want it for. Find a purpose for yourself, it's necessary in order to want strongly. Posting in this forum will hardly be enough, most people here already have a purpose that I mentioned above, and it won't just get transferred to you if you're not interested in it. Please think of things that you are interested in, your hobbies or desires, and how you could possibly connect LDing to them and how you could apply it for something that you find interesting.

I think I know what you mean and where it comes from. I feel the same about sleep in general, although I'm working at total removal of this attitude. It's just escapism, a wish to cease to exist in a cheating manner, without actually dying :D The roots of it are probably in RL, you may be discontent with something in life and wish for a better place or for rest. In such a mood LDing becomes a nuisance.
