i know that spherical vision is possible in an astral projection... so i don't see why not. you don't have physical eyes in a dream - you're just carrying a habit of frontal vision with you.
thats cool...Il give my self some wheird vision like I was guna do nintendo entertainment system vision but the thought of seeing in 8-bit would probable scare me awake...
It sounds cool! I've thought about it before, but never realized before now that I could try it in a dream.
That would be so weird. I've talked to my friend about it before, if it happened in real life, that is. It would be really hard to adjust.
Well, it is impossible in real life... But not in a dream I think.
You can experience it during an astral projection or obe but keep in mind you will be very confuse about your surrounding if you don't have much experience because you are seeing Up, Down, Front, Back, Left, Right all at the same time which give you a mirror effects, but with practice it will be normal as 220 vision. I haven't tried it during a lucid dream and will give it a try :)
Actually, I have experienced this before in waking consciousness, never in a dream.. Yes, it was possibly induced by psychedelics... but very real, nonetheless. Not that I suggest anyone ingest substances to attain this experience. I have been completely unable to recreate it in anyway, in any state of consciousness.. Besides, I didn't really care for it. Like TheDreamKing says, it was completely disorienting...
I saw my friend standing in front of me, when she was actually behind me. I wouldn't have even known she was there, but I could see her.. The experience left me dizzy and somewhat nauseated.
But, yes not only do I think it is possible in dream time, but also in (so-called) waking reality.
I've never tried it, but I've heard it's possible. You should be able to do it if you set your mind to it.
It seems odd. Can your barin even capacitate that kind of vision?
Sounds interesting.
It's definitely possible. But your brain will just be like 'wtf mate?'
It would take a while to be able to comprehend. I think it would be easier if you could disembody yourself in the dream. The only reason we don't dream things like this all the time is because our brains have been conditioned to think what we see and hear and smell etc right now is reality. Which of course it isn't. It's just our perception of reality.
I don't think your brain is capable of seeing that much at one time. It is very similar to trying to make a new color (hence my sig), and is probably impossible. If you did manage to do it, you will probably wake up.
Yes, 360-vision is absolutely possible. I have done it before and it didn't confuse me or wake me up. It was pretty cool actually. Also my brain didn't explode ;)
I should mention that I didnt have a body in that experience, I was basically just a point of consciousness floating around my room.
I almost always have 360/third person view, like in a video game.
Yes, I did it before in a meditation, and also in a dream, by accident.
I turned into a fly. I had a fly's eyes, so I could see all around me. It was kaleidoscopic.
For you to do this, you are going to have to do something based on your archetypes. I like to shapeshift, so that worked for me.
So, what movie are you talking about?
im gonna disagree aswell.."making a new colour" that i would say is impossible because we have computers that have blended every mix and given a name to it (wheater or not you think #00FFcc43 is a name).
you wanna go Brand New? you cant. the computer already did:roll: not to mention your brain would simply blend colours you know togeather
360 vision, sounds... fun. yeah, people are gonna need to go bodyless or modded body, my idea is for 360 vision is just put an eye on each side or you head. done!... "capable" oh i think your wrong there. the human brain has very large capabilities because of it's ability to grow, and learn.
I have seen colors in dreams that are not in waking life many times. I did not make these colors. I just saw them. A lot of them are translucent, transparent, or iridescent. They are beautiful and amazing. Sometimes, I see two colors at once on the same object.
Placing limits on yourself, well limits you. I have been recently been focusing on dreaming limitlessly, and transferring that same mentality to waking life. Every time someone says something is impossible in dreams, I just want to laugh.
I see you have been watching waking life. Good movie.
not to go off topic -- but 'color' (not iridescence, transparency, etc) is strictly defined in terms of frequencies of visible light; so you can't actually create a new color. you could perhaps see a blend or mixture of colors that you've never seen before
i think that many people have the 'impression' that they've done things like dreaming with full spherical or even 360˚ vision, when in fact they saw their dream as a fish-lens type of thing (perhaps opening their view substantially but not completely). i won't say anything with any certainty though as i haven't done/tried it.
I think it would be very similar to viewing the google earth program. you know, when you scroll through the stars? only all at once. Personally, this sounds like an epic thing to try!
When i gain mastery of my dreams, maybe i'll try this.
:hrm:
Ummm The new colour is definitely possible. Whoever used the computer analogy, that's SOOO off it's not funny. There's more colour IRL than on the computer lol (just pretend the computer isn't RL lol)
Humans cannot see every colour there is. For example we can't see infrared light waves. That's why they're so good for wireless electronics. Otherwise there would be red lights everywhere. Birds and some other animals CAN see them. Some humans can see and extra colour that most can't. Only females have this. Not all of course, just a few. And some people who take psychedelics (including men) who have a certain gene but haven't been able to see the extra colour IRL, can see it while tripping. Same with dreams, because their brain CAN process it, but their eyes can't.
i was making the assumption that color (while facilitated by the brain) is simply a manifestation of variations of the frequencies of the visual light spectrum, which doesn't include infrared. perhaps this assumption is invalid, but currently that's the opinion i hold. the previously stated idea that a new color could be created/experienced in the human mind, therefore, i believe wouldn't be possible.
not that it's really that important anyway. the brain can give one the impression that something is occurring during say, a dream, when in fact this event is not actually visually manifest (i.e. events that are not visually feasible, such as multiple objects existing distinctly as one object)
Kinda like this:

except you see everything at the same time, instead of just where your looking at.
Of course the brain can process it. But to make a new color, you wouldn't hear it, or use any other sense except sight. You even said yourself that if we could see infrared lighting it would just appear as red. If we were in a black and white world, we wouldn't be able to see a color like red; it would just show up as gray. Therefore you wouldn't be able to process it with your eyes, making it useless.
In naruto, the ability to see 360 degrese is called the "byakugan". Iv'e tried it in a lucid dream before, but when i got to acctually doing it. I had no idea of how it would look, feel. And i simply just didn't no what to do aha. So i kinda didn't :?
