gooooooood times
hi,
ive been keeping a dream journal for about 3 weeks and ive had 3 lucid dreams so far. all of them have been annoyingly short, but amazing nonetheless. when i become lucid its the biggest rush, and i begin by turning around to make sure i stay where im at but i must say that me becoming lucid is extremely random and i wake up after i try something like flying or changing my suroundings. i dont even understand why i become lucid. they are just random things that make me aware im dreaming, then the next night ill be dreaming something far weirder and i wont even become lucid.
what im trying to say is ive had 3 LDs so far over a period of the last 7 days. what are some good techniques to attain the lucidity every night. i just dont see it happening as the only 3 i have had are very random.
i appreciate the help friends.

I'm new to lucid dreaming also and have only had 1 lucid dream so far. I became lucid because I did a reality check. I've been RCing everyday for about a week now and almost gave up because it never seemed to carry over into my dreams until last night when I RCed while in a dream and became lucid. Theres section on the dreamviews site that is dedicated to attaining lucidity. Theres also a section of the forums all about attaining lucidity. I recommend RCs as one of the things you should do regularly to LD more often.

Yep totally agree with GreyDecay, RC was the trick that got me lucid in the first place. And any foods with choline and vitamin B will make your dream more vivid, and the more vivid they are, the more of your chance to remember them and becoming lucid. And as far as staying lucid make sure you focus onto one thing and not to look around and expecting other stuff to be there. Go with what you see and when you have more experience you can change your scenery at will, and also you can shout "clarity or I'm dreaming" loudly so the world can be in focus.

One of the things I used to forget to do when I first started getting Lucid Dreams was stabilize them. It's more of a habit now and, thanks to that, they have lasted much longer now.
Some of the basic things you can do to stabilize them is, as TheDreamKing said, shout "More clarity now!" or other nonverbal things such as rubbing your hands together. Either way, stabilizing the dream before you try and exert your will will really help.
