Just out of curiosity, i was wondering Whats the longest time you've been lucid for in an LD. as i have only started on these forums it would be nice to know the length of lucidity i can achieve. so far, 1 LD, lasted 3 seconds ^_^.
The longest lucid I had was my second one. It must of lasted between 5 and 10 minutes but it seemed more like a half an hour. It was great and seemed more like an OBE and it was extremely vivid.
Well, the 2-3 I've had in the past were less than 10seconds when my dream was ending. My first real LD I was in control for about a minute
It's not like i could time it, but it felt like it was about 1 hour. This dream was under special circumstances though. I had recently had some minor surgery and had been sleeping very poorly/little for 3 or 4 days. I am fairly certain that REM rebound was the cause of the dream's length.
Continuously, probably about 2 hours. Though I've had some nights where I've been in and out of lucid dreams for around 4 hours.
I have no idea how long it was in the real life. But in the dream it felt like a day. I did so many things I eventually just got tired of it.
Though I wouldn't deny another one of those :P
damn, my record felt like 10 minutes. On average only a couple minutes. I get jealous when everyone's saying an hour or a day.
45 minutes of pure lucidity. :)
The longest i can guess that i have been lucid would probably be for 20 odd minutes or so. It was my first lucid dream, it was very interesting involving Utopias, bikes, and well, sex ;) .
Maybe 15 minutes
Around twenty minutes for me. The problem with being lucid for so long is that you'll eventually forget some of the stuff you did when recalling the dream. If you are trying to accomplish a goal, it's best to wake after completing it so the memory will be fresh. I've know I've lost whole dialogues with DC's because I flew around for a bit after.
Of course, if you don't have a goal and are just exploring...:D
2 -3 seconds.
hi, on this site I have to call myslf 'the natural', as lucid dreaming is a fairly reg occurance for me.
I just joined this site, been lucid dreaming 25 years, I didnt know it was called lucid dreaming. In fact I thought lots of people had lucid dreams as i did.
At least in my case lucid dreaming has alwys been a natural part of my life.
I have had lucid dreams that lasted for much of the night, and often i will then sleep in for as long as possible, to continue lucid dreaming.
so for me the better portion of a night, as i can usually continue a single dream for some time. 6 hrs.
Some Lucid Dream eperiences that I have I enjoy an extra amount, say of flying. Those dreams I am more apt to continue the dream over the next couple of weeks.
When I lucid dream I am doing whatever I want, and of course, it feels real, so why would you want the dream experience to stop?
Think big, the dreams can last!
Before I started trying to lucid dream, I figured out that I was dreaming on at least 5 separate occasions. However, as soon as I figured it out, I would wake up, so I don't know if I've even ever had a LUCID dream, since I didn't spend any time in the dream with the knowledge that I was dreaming, since I would wake up immediately after.
If those count however, Probably a second or two is my longest.
My longest lucid dream was around fifteen to twenty minutes. I like to think of it as one of my greatest accomplishments in lucid dreaming. ^^ It was also one of the most vivid dreams I've had to date and it's still fresh in my memory.
In dream time.. i'd have to say ten minutes I think.
my second LD lasted 25 minutes in real life, but in the dream it felt like about an hour. it was incredible :-)
I can keep one lucid dream going for a few hours if I wanted to but I stuggle to keep going sometimes... I get really overly excited and I wake up :(
5-10 mins
Only had two LD's I can remember after joining this forum and the one that lasted the longest was probably around 25 seconds. My goal right now is to have longer lucid dreams.
My longest LD was probably a couple minutes long. Most of mine are a couple seconds.
Around 15 minutes I think.
Like 10 15 minutes.
Two hours
Two hours
i woke up at 4 am then went back to sleep when i woke up after the lucid dream it was 6:15 am and in the dream i thought several times: "wow im taking too long to wake up (Yay!)"
i just dont see how you can possibly measure.
4 minutes tops. Enough for me to play around, but I'd still like to have a longer one... Working on it
about 15 minutes for me. It was my first one. My second lasted about 1 minute and my third lasted
about 5 seconds, I became lucid too fast and woke up :P
Low-quality lucidity in which I didn't fully comprehend the implications of the fact that I'm dreaming: 2-6 minutes (was hard to tell)
Full lucidity: about 15 seconds
Makes me wonder... Out of all the coma victims out there, there has got to be at least one of them who was a learned oneironaut. Just think what was going through his mind the first few days of the coma. "Ugh, it's been ten dreams and I still haven't woken up... what's going on here?"
Edit: hmm, now that I'm reading about comas, perhaps comatose patients don't dream in the first place.
A couple seconds, maybe. I barely get past breathing through my pinched nose and realizing I'm dreaming before the plot takes back over and I forget what I was trying to do. That or I just wake up.
It is difficult to tell. My longest was probably about 15-20 minutes (subjectively), but it may have been more like an hour. There was some kind of adventure that I was never able to completely remember, but it might be because the dream plot skipped. I could only remember the 15 minutes or so with much clarity.
around 20 mins i think, not more maybe less.
I'm rather surprised that some of the more experienced members have only lasted their longest a few seconds. That's gotta be disappointing! Hopefully you can learn to prolong them, it's just so rewarding.
I've had about 4 solid LD's since late last year. Most were about 10 seconds, but I had one that lasted about 5-10 minutes.
ive had some where i slip in and out of lucidity a couple of times, which feel like they last far longer than i am asleep for, however the lucid moments are never that long. in terms of one period probably about 30 mins, although i have recently chained some for perhaps 3 or 4 periods of about 20 minsish. i am going to have one of these chains in the morning ;)
however my dream watch is very unreliable :)
some non lucids feel completely like i have just been through days of a holiday dream. i remember being in the dream counting down each day until i know i have to go home. i am up for the idea that the brain fills in gaps and such, but i do believe with good practice you can dilate a dream to last for longer than you sleep in reality
Off the top of my head, I would say my longest lucid dreams last around 2 hours. That is a super long dream. That would possibly have a false awakening or two, some sleep paralysis/ dream re-entry, ect. A dream like that feels like it lasts a lifetime. The false memories and imagined future expectations compound to create epic tales. A more sane, good, long lucid dream, for me, would be 30-45 minutes.
My longest lucid was probably about 15-30mins and as mentioned previously, I kept thinking that it's lasting a long time XD
About an hour. It was actually 2 lucids chained though. Generally when I WILD the first 10 minutes are poor quality and the dream will normally fade out. I then DEILD and the quality is much better and it lasts much longer.
about 4-6 minutes
if you count the brief lucid dream before it then 5-7 minutes
Well, I had an all night LD so I guess 6 hours? I'm not sure...
It lasted the whole dream (maybe 15 min). When I get lucid it's either in the end of a dream , just before I wake up, or some minutes into the dream. Never had any vivid lucid dreams and I can't really control 'em totally, so they never last very long.
Subjectively it lasted for several hours. But that was a rare case, usually it's only like 5-15 minutes. Part of the dream was that it was lucid, there were like 10 DCs who all claimed to be other lucid dreamers, and we were all practicing different forms of control. It was wicked awesome, but I'm still not sure if it really counts as a lucid dream, though it was great practice for control.
I'm gonna be honest, I've had only 3 successful LD's so far, in a few months time.
The last one was a DILD, happened this morning, believe it or not it lasted for about 10-15 minutes!
I think one of the reasons why it lasted so long was because a friend was with me in the dream and we wanted to dream the same dream.
So I was constantly telling him what I'm seeing to make sure we're dreaming the same thing. I also told him things such as looking around the room and rubbing your hands together so his dream wouldn't fade out.
I think that made me very concious about the dream and very easy to control what I was seeing.
Must've been a few houres.
At least 1 full and long day event in dream time definitely more than 24hrs of day as there's hardly night in my dreams.
Felt like fast forward recall when I woke.
As of last night, about 20 minutes.
How exactly would someone measure dream time anyway since it doesn't coincide with clock time, or is it just how long it feels like?
Maybe 10 minutes... You can do a lot in 10 minutes.
1 hour 30mins+
It was at my oldschool & all the streets around it unfortunately I couldn't go far because my memory was restricted because I couldn't remember all off the streets around it
My best one so far must have lasted about 5-7 minutes. That doesn't really sound very long but like said above, it's actually a lot of time!
It seemed like about 30-40 minutes, but it's nearly impossible for me to keep track of dream time. Clocks are radically different every time I see one, so I am basing this entirely on the estimated amount of time it would have taken to complete the recalled dream events and actions in real life. Of course, recall gaps could severely affect this perception of time.
this was one of my longest ones but ill leave you to judge how long it could have taken. :)
just wow - Dream Journals - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource
It felt like 45 minutes, but i gues 2-3 minutes.
About an hour on my last lucid.
