humming, sense of movement, and blood

About a week ago I had this dream. I am only now able to write about it, as my husband loves his online gaming . Anyway...

I dreamed of a red curly headed female with a male, manipulative energy.

She asked me a religious question. As she asked me, I realized she was trying to present herself as meek and innocent, when in fact, she was far from it.

I then looked at the ground and found what appeared to be a burned cross, embedded into the ground...artistic....more like a a paintinng, but in a burned fashion.

Anyway, I woke up. I heard a loud humming sound, like a distant engine. Then, I felt like I was in back of a trailer...in my bed...in a moving motion.

When I realized this, I became scared and woke up completely. The humming ceased, as did the movement. This happened twice ( the second time, I was aware I was dreaming and tried to pay attention to the detail of the surroundings). Including the visage of the burned cross.

Finally, I woke up and found blood coming out of my right ear.

Anyone else have this type of thing happen?!

that sounds like you have a medical problem and its making its way into your dreams because of its severity. I would go to a doctor if I were you.

The humming and sensations you experienced are pretty typical to Sleep Paralysis...however the bleeding is not (unless I'm very much mistaken but I've never heard this before).

It is typical for people to experience a very loud humming/vibration sort of effect in their head when in SP as well as hypnogogic hallucinations which can often feel violent in nature as though you are being tossed around, falling, floating, being squeezed through a rubber tube etc. etc. It is likely that this loud humming/drumming in the head comes from physiological changes which occur during SP, most likely, a conscious awareness of heart beat/blood pumping through the ears.

Have you ever had experiences with sleep paralysis before?

I have likened that sensation to something from The Butterfly Effect. If you've ever seen it you might know what I'm talking about. After he changes something about the past, he experiences this intense pressure, loud throbbing sound, and bleeds from the nose. That is a really good illustration of what my SP has felt like on many occasions, and even though I do not get nose bleeds, the pressure that is exerted in my brain feels so strongly that I wouldn't be surprised to bleed from nose/ears/eyes. Although, this is is just a feeling...and not actually happening. Which makes me wonder what is going on with you... ...if it happens again I would suggest seeing a doctor, I don't think bleeding from the ear is a common occurrence.

this is a hallucination induced by sleep paralysis, happened/happens to me too.

It's common try not to get scared by these things, i know they can scare the crap out of you, i heard a SHHHHHH noise in my ear (very loud) in between sleep/wake.

      Thank-you

Thank-you all for your concern and advise...I am glad to know you.

I guess, it's not normal...lol. I did go to the doctor. He checked my outer canal and didn't find anything. He said it probably came from my inner canal. I feel no pain, so he told me to come back in 2 months for a checkup. He said if it happens on a reoccuring basis to call him.

I did actually have sp as a child, a lot. I don't remember much of it though...just shadows at the end of my bed, not being able to scream out...

This does seem like sp. I remember I was trying to respond to the question, but I had some fear as to the others motive, and as I tried to speak the words did not come out. Then I became aware of being in my bed and hearing the humming and sense of motion. I was concentrating very hard on my surroundings and thinking analytically, which may have caused the pressure.

I am glad to know the humming is attributed to something more common, I had never heard it before. I have heard my heart beating loudly, after a nightmare, but not this constant sounding vibratory humming. And the motion. It's a new experience for me. Glad to know others have experienced this, too. I guess I should read up on it.

Thank-you for your kind, thoughful, responses. I am glad to be part of the family!

Thanks for updating us! I'm glad you went to the doctor and at least got it checked out and glad that he didn't find anything to worry about.
