      Horror lucid

I just had my first scary lucid dream. It was caused by looking into a mirror. Here is the exert from when this happened.

"Looking to my left I noticed the mirror and decided to look at it. I saw myself in the mirror. My hair was a little messy like I had just woken up and it was a lot thinner than in real life. I had a really sad look on my face. My face was also a little pudgy and I didn't quite look like me. The longer I looked, the darker my eyes became until they were completely black. This really scared me and I turned away. "

I've heard that looking into mirrors isn't a good idea while your lucid because it's almost always scary for some reason. The problem is, is that all of my WILDs begin in my room and the mirror is right there. Now I have a really big fear of mirrors in lucid dreams. Nothing has scared me like this. I think it was a mix of it actually being me and the fact that it was a vivid lucid.

What would be your advice. Should I avoid mirrors, or is this fear worth confronting.

I see how that could be a problem. I also have 2 mirrors in my room, and a hand mirror stood up on my night stand awaiting me when I awake... D:

Dang that is scary. I also have a mirror which is on my door. apparently my bed makes me face my mirror. I always fear that something is going to come out or something at night.

When I look at a mirror, I look at me. When i see a mirror, i see a cute little puppy and go after it.

Make it what you want to see.

Thats creepy. It reminds me of one of my dreams when I was in my bathroom and looked in the mirror and there was a mannequin behind me. So I looked around and it was still there. Then when I looked back in the mirror I saw its head turn and look at me. It was scary but I was lucky to catch the weirdness and became lucid off of it.

I say if you see anything weird in a mirror just ask it some random/funny questions. Or you could just break the mirror.

Wow that's like some exorcism of emily rose shit right there I almost wet myself when I saw that part in the movie. Maybe it's worth confronting because I dont see an easy way to avoid it in your situation. But one thing I wouldnt do is stare.

I disagree. Stare it out. I had basically the exact same experience, but resolved to confront it. After a few seconds it just looked stupid and cartoon-ish. Hope it goes well!

I've had a few experiences with mirrors in lucid dreams. In each of them, my reflection has been distorted and difficult for my mind to register. In the last one I remember, I decided to walk into the mirror. After I stepped inside it I ended up in a dimension where everything looked silver. Unfortunately the dream ended at this point. Anyway... I say confront it.
      Strange like life itself.
