      Coincidence? Post ur opinion

My first LD: I had joined this site about a week and a half ago before I had it. I woke up at two, and I was tired and didn't feel like trying yet another WILD or reppeating anything to myself, so I (being half asleep) got comfortable and thought, "Instead of trying all that other stuff, I'm just gonna know I'm dreaming". I fell asleep and halfway through the dream, I knew I was dreaming and did some neat stuff too . Is this a coincidence (forgive my spelling) or did I just try the easiest way of inducing a lucid dream?[/i]

Its not a coincidence, really. I've been talking to LDguy on AIM a lot, and he told me if you tell yourself before you fall asleep that you will have a lucid dream and if you really belive that you will then you'll have one. I went and took a nap today and told myself I'd have one, belived myself, and it worked! First try!

I was lucid for about .5 seconds, but hey, it means I'm getting closer to having a lucid dream thats over 30 seconds!

it is always a good idea if you want to be lucid in a dream to just know that what happens after you go to bed is all a dream until you push the button on your alarm clock. it was no coincidence
Once you get better than .5 seconds, you can do some pretty whacky stuff too. (although there is also room for improvement no matter what level you're at. I still have trouble getting to a different location or time. but i'm a lot better at switching time than location. Wait, i'm off topic)
Like you can be a superhero. or you could be a dog. i still haven't gotten around to doing some of the really fun stuff. Like i haven't flown yet, unless you count the time i went on a plane. I haven't been clothes yet either... Hm...

(i don't know why i want to be clothes, but i do.)
Why is it that when i am holding all of the cards, everyone else decided to play chess?

I'm excellent with recall and with control (I flew with no problems in my first LD). I'm just having so much trouble with GETTING CONSCIOUS!!!

If you know you are going to have a lucid dream then the chances are you will. Instead of saying "I hope I have lucid dream tonie" say "I know I'm going to have a lucid dream tonite and it's going to be like this...." Works great for me. One step at a time...

      Are we dreaming?

      Hi
The thing that I tell myself is that I will dream, I will dream vividly and lucidly and I will remember it. I also leave a pen and paper by my nightstand to write it down as soon as I wake ( or half awake).
      Sweet Dreaming!
