What happens if you try to play chess in an LD? Can your mind keep track of everything on the board, or will the pieces start moving around and becoming illogical?
That sounds hard as hell... I have enough trouble pressing buttons on a phone!
I doubt your mind would keep up with the pieces but I bet you win xD
Unless you want to lose.
Lol good point, by why would you want to lose? xD
I still have had no LD's and am finding it hard to work out how. Can someone help?
One of my goals with LDing is to be able to do stuff like playing chess, things that require thought. I feel like their may be potential for being able to do those things much better because you can focus your entire mind on them, and use visuals in the dream.
Must take a lot of practice though!
That's an ambitious task! The problem with intricate things like that (chessboards, keyboards especially), is they screw up so often in dreams. I've devoted some serious effort to trying to type accurately... no success yet lol
I have yet to have an LD but that sounds hard.
Hate to revive a month old thread, but I litterally just had a dream last night where I was playing chess.
The whole thing was a blur. I remember I was in a Costco or something and there was this place where everyone would take the chess set off the shelf and play them on nearby tables.
I remembered spending a lot of time locating the pieces to play with, and remember playing a couple of people, but I never really focused on the gameplay.
There was no strategy. Somehow I always knew I had beaten my opponents.
There was one "cool" guy there with his asian girlfriend. He brought his own chess set. But, I could somehow tell I would easily beat him.

So in short, I don't believe the brain can maintain a logical game of chess.
