My first lucid dream ( that I can't even remember )

I became lucid in a dream last night. The dream was very weird, but i remember saying something like "this can't be real" and did a reality check. Sure enough I was dreaming and was transported into the dream all the way. I couldn't summon anything yet, I could only observe and walk around and shit. It was pretty awesome, because it like waking life.

I don't remember much, actually the only thing i DO remember is doing the reality check and becoming lucid and the first part of a dream.

My recall sucks. But while I was in the dream I could remember all of it. Plus I was interrupted from sleep 2 times. That may have something to do with the poor recall.

I do remember I fell into the James River or something though.

Grats! This is a really, really good first start!

As it is, when you begin your lucid experiences, before you start summoning DC and fireballs, you should really take a moment and get a feel for what it feels like to be lucid.

How does your body feel? Weightless? How do you move about your environment? Touch things. How do they feel?

Part of what makes this useful for awareness is knowing how you feel when dreaming vs. how you feel in waking life.

Yes, becoming lucid is a very exciting moment. I think i DID get excited in the dream when i became lucid.

When I become lucid again ( which I will tonight ), how do i increase clarity/vividness, so that I can remember more? Doesn't the rubbing the hands together thing work? That is practicing the awareness right

For me, rubbing hands helped keep the dream stable. What really improved clarity was interacting with something in my environment. For instance, the one LD I've had with full control (since joining DV), I touched a glass door. It felt cold, but all of the colours in the room just popped. Got brighter and clearer. It was awesome-looking
