      Awesome! First Lucid!

I finally obtained lucidity! It was a DILD/FA. I woke up in my bed to find a subway pillow right next to me. I touched it and told myself I don't have a pillow with subway on it and my brain fired off saying THIS IS A DREAM! When that happened everything started to fade black, I wanted to stay in there so I rubbed my hands while laying on my bed and shouted clarity!

When I did that I found myself standing in the middle of my room naked. My room door was opened and the hallway that leads to my fathers room was cracked. I kept thinking should I go outside my room? But I wasn't sure that I was actually dreaming and tried to do another hand rub because I think I was too excited and thought that was my RC. I did that and everything was so real. But Again, I was scared to walk outside my room naked! So I guess I woke up.

It took me a little under a month to achieve my first LD, this is all thanks to Dreamviews.

Thank you! Even though it lasted a 1-2 minutes I feel that a bridge has been formed and now I will have many many more LDs.

      See you on the moon!

Lucky you! Grats on the lucid dream. I've been trying to get one. I was almost on the brink of going into a lucid dream from a WILD method.
Dream well, and I hope you have more LD's to come!

Thanks! I really did stick to it. For the last week I was getting a bit "down" about my progression. I was a bit full of it becuase I have pretty good dream recall 2-5 a night and I thought I would become a natural faster. My progression is doing great IMO. I went from having 0 dream recall before I found out about Dreamviews to 2-7 a night!

I tried reallly hard, I think a bit too hard. I stopped trying SOOO hard the last few nights and kinda told myself i'm going to lucid dream soon so be prepared. I was doing pretty much everything you could. I was doing RC throughout the day, I was asking myself if i'm dreaming 1-5 times a day and I tried WILDing soooo many times w/o much success.

In the end I think it boiled down to me really telling myself it's time ot LD!

My bro sent me this video last night and it really inspired me.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ha17vkPM9k

I also downloaded the dream journal 2.5 last night? It's so awesome. The first night I put "Obtain Lucidity" I marked it off!

      Good times!

Thanks everyone, hit me up on the moon when you get your LD, maybe we can do some crazy fun stuff.

I downloaded the dream journal just a few hours ago. I will see if I can do it tonight. Although, I don't know which method I should try.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks,

IMO, the more the better. But! And this is a big but! I think if you constantly change techniques it hurts you more than helps. Not that I think you're trying new techniques just letting you know what i've read over and over.

What worked for me was starting a Dream Journal and writing everything down. Every few days I would read over my ENTIRE dream journal and picture all of those dreams to maybe help stimulate my dream memory. I also read that people that tried WILDing right as soon as they go to sleep have a chance of getting a LD even if you don't succeed.

I mean, look at my first lucid I just had... It was a FA/DILD due to SUBWAY lol... that's really funny to me because I haven't had subway for over 3-6 months.

Anyways, I think sticking to a few really good techniques (DILD/ MILD/ SP/WILD) Seems to be the answer. Many people get their lucids doing those techniques and that really helped me burn it into my mind. These are techniques that have been used for a while, stick with the basics IMO, BUT, mold the techniques you've learned into something new that fits you. I did. Took bits and pieces of everyones info and warped it a bit to help my body more. Example, some people stretch once and stay still. I can't, I move and toss and turn all night until i'm comfy, that's me and that's helped a lot!

I belive that your Dream Journal will be your best bet. Before joining DV I had 0 Dream recall unless the dream was really imprinted into my mind. After starting my DJ I started getting 2-7 a night!

I also read a TON of info on this site, Tutorials, FIRST LUCIDS, and pretty much all the other good stuff here.

Ohh, one last thing. Maybe this is the reason I had my first LD but you never know. I stopped taking my medicine (cannabis) for the first time in about 6-7 years. I read many things stating cannabis stunts your dream recall. Last night my 4 dreams b4 my LD were so incredibly clear and vivid i'm trying another night w/o my medicine. I don't suggest everyone do this becuase i've been able to fall fast asleep after learning about DV. I used to have insomnia, now it's really easy to fall asleep.

Anyways, just remember, it's really only you that's in the way. Once your brain realizes this I think you'll have your first LD.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

Thanks, I really believe that video inspired me...

I watched it about an hour before I went to sleep and was thinking about it. It may not be much for the more advanced LDers but it gave me some goosebumps a few times.

      The journey has just begun.

BTW, I like your sig Beachgirl, made me think.
