Unusual Experience
I had a dream while sleeping on a plane that was truly unusual. There was no world, or even my own body, just endlessly scrolling lines of CSS code, color-coded like they are in my CSS editor. A lot of it, surprisingly, seemed to be both valid code and unrelated to any project I'm currently working on. Any ideas what could have caused this? Have any of you had similar experiences? Thanks.

You know, the idea that our dreams always feature us in a game-like, first-person 3D experience is a very bad misconception. I've had dreams in which I only saw a computer screen - I didn't even remember my body being there. I've had dreams in which I was the character in a 2D game, so I had a 3rd person view.
Dreams can be anything, really -- which I think may be the reason why so many people have bad dream recall. They expect a lifelike experience when trying to recall their dreams, but they won't find it.
As a further note, dreaming of CSS might be a way of your brain to memorize and fixate what you've learned lately. After learning something knew, most people report dreaming about it.

I also have a lot of dreams that aren't in first-person view. Since I spend a lot of time at my computer I dream a lot about it, but never with me sitting at my computer. It's always just what's happening on the screen that shows up in my dreams.
I also have had dreams where I see other people act out a story, just like a movie.

Interesting that you mention this because I have had a dream that involved someone reading text from what looked like a slideshow :P
