Awareness carried over from first dream to second dream?

I had a DILD last night that actually was pretty cool. Then, as the dream ended I found myself back in my bed. I was going to attempt DEILD but realized I didn't have to, because I was in the wrong bed! I didn't have an epiphany like you normally do in a DILD, but I realized it right on the spot. So I got up and did my stuff.

      Anyone have similiar experiences?

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Nope. I fall for the false-awakening every time.

That's too bad. Hope you catch one eventually.

Yeah, I have a lot of False Awakening DEILDS. It got to the point where I reality checked whenever I woke up. This does two things.
1: Usually catches any False Awakenings you have.
2: By setting more cognitive importance to False Awakenings, you're more likely to have them.

I had so many false awakenings last night that I just started immediately recognizing them and just rolled out of bed if I couldn't move and restarted the dream. If my eyes were stuck closed I tried to open them but noticed I was seeing my dream and real life at the same time so I stopped trying to open them and just forgot they were closed after that. That happened twice in the same R.E.M. stage.

Hahahahaaha Lol This stuff happens to me all the time. One moment I am peacefully killing up some monsters and the other, BAM! I'm back in my bed.
It's a good thing that I wrote my name artistically on the roof with fluorescent paint right above my bed, so whenever I have a false-awakening, I can tell by looking above. That way, I can reality check without moving and try FILD if I am not in an FA.

The crimson blood shimmers on the snow,
The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,

Hmm... Actually, that sounds like a good idea.

Why don't you try my method? Just use some fluorescent paint to write something, and you can tell if it's an FA by looking at it.
Or, you could have a mirror near your bed, that can act as an RC?

It's interesting to read about everyone's experiences with FAs. I agree that it's a good idea to RC every time you wake up, even briefly.

Just this morning I have reconfirmed to myself that I need to start reality checking every time I wake up. I had maybe 5 or 6 FA's while trying to WILD this morning and only caught 1 of them, which I woke up from immediately. All of my successful WILDs and DEILDs so far have started with an FA and have FAs sprinkled throughout without losing awareness.
