      Post Quantiq's Meditation WorkBook

Definitely plan on taking these lessons so I'm going to fill out a workbook. Can't wait to start these classes. I think meditation will be a great way to improve my progress in lucid dreaming.

      Also, I'm the annoying classmate!

Alright, so just for reference I wasn't being lazy with my first entry, I was on vacation in France and Portugal so I didn't really have any time to start my first entry.
But, now that I'm back my entry is as follows:

Lesson 1 Work - What meditation means to you?

Meditation to me in its basic form consists of both a skill and an art. It is a skill because of the learning process to acquire vast amounts of patience and peace. Its an art because there are no limits to meditation in which its form can be altered and experimented with. To me, meditation is simply the "art of peace". A method that can be used to perhaps free yourself from the constant grind of society and its "time - efficiency" oriented philosophy. Time itself is an illusion and yet we feel as if we are trapped within it.

The goal for me and the purpose of why I'm taking this class is to learn patience and peace. Although, I've had a bit of experience in meditation before, I'm open to learning new methods and developing my technique. I hope that this will eventually lead me to be able to have better lucids, a healthier lifestyle and acquire a lot more patience.

Also, huge thanks to ShockWave for providing these lessons. I hope to learn alot from your classes.

Meditation Notes for September 18, 2011

Well I got up to 15 minutes of focal meditation today. I spent 2 minutes relaxing, reading a book and then I felt ready to meditate. I relaxed myself and focused entirely on my breathing; the sensation of the cool air refilling your lungs with fresh air each time you breath in. I did feel a bit of discomfort but I tried to experiment and I started to focus solely on the discomfort and how that felt.

It was quite relaxing, however I feel that I do prefer the void meditation a bit better. I'm hoping to go to 20 minutes for tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

Also I have a question for you Shockwave: I have start to feel anxiety after 10 minutes and my conciousness is constantly telling me to stop or 'I've done enough' any tips on how to combat this?

Try not to keep track of how long you've been going for. If you feel like this, remember that meditation, in a way, lets you get away from concepts like time, and find comfort inside your own thoughts. If this is happening, it may also be due to recent stress. Instead of stopping your meditation, try to meditate on what the problem might be, and see if you can resolve it.
