    About brokencog
    Biography:
I am new to the board and am looking for answers to questions regarding how to advance my dreaming so that I may look forward to sleeping.

I am not sure how many actual lucid dreams I have or if parts were lucid and others very life like. Increasingly my dreams have become more friendly after some work I have done in the waking world.

I am married and have no children, so life allows my sleep to be as restful as other stress allows.

    First Flying Lucid

by brokencog on 09-02-2011 at 07:21 PM
It was only my third Lucid dream. Last night before bed, I posted about Sleep Paralyses and using it to my advantage. I deal with the Old Hag issue quite a bit and feel like there is someone sitting on me or trying to stop my my breathing. Once I got over that last night (first two were awful) I used the DIELD method to get to where I wanted to go. Once dreaming I was outside in a parking lot next to a large warehouse. There was a very steep uphill that was higher than the building. I ran up about 300 ft. with what seemed like no effort. I then was running in the field on top of the hill, having every intention of jumping off the steep incline. So I did. I ran as fast as I could and jumped. At first I was not high up but just skimming the field, with the flying technique which was like swimming underwater when you stretch your hands all the way forward and pull the air/water back and through. Once this was working, I actually was high up and started to drop a bit, so I started to flap my arms a bit like a bird, and stayed up as funny as it sounds. I'm not sure how long this lasted, however when I lost control of the dream I turned into Superman, and carried the Bat Mobile off a train thing. That part bummed me out, not only did I lose the control of the lucid, I turned into a Superhero which is not my regular gig. I had a false awakening I think, and tried to segue into another dream but then actually woke up.
What worked for me: not using computer for an hour, turning off TV and most lights also for an hour before bed and my now current 6mg of Melatonin.

At a tool making plant or possibly a steel plant that makes large parts for some industrial use. Everywhere there were workingmen and taking plates of steel out of fire pits and all. I apparently became a worker there. My uniform consisted of a rope rug that completely full of dirt and grime. A co-worker asked me: “ whose yard are you going to throw that in?”; I replied: “I am just going to throw it away.” – My uniform that was a rug…

Walking down a dirt road with my friend Mike, from the previous dream circumstances. Mike said to me who is a fellow student: “He’ll gladly take an F for that one; he did it right there at the desk”… meaning a video project. This statement was linked in a way to the previous dream that I cannot recall. Perhaps because I was wearing no shirt and could feel him slap me on the arm as I left my job.
