Seemed genuine (overall) to me too, but it was questionable and I am gullible. But I'd rather bite the occasional troll bait and explain things calmly than kill someone's willingness to ask.
For some reason I felt the OP was being sincere, so I decided not to be hostile. Trust me, there were times when I was thinking "how could anyone misunderstand this so badly?" But I think I managed to get my point across without being insulting. She (?) seems to appreciate that. Hopefully it left a mark and she will come to a better understanding of the topic. Contrast this with others in that forum, who I see as horrifically insincere and probably just trolls. Keeping yourself composed is difficult when their eyes and ears are shut but they just keep talking. I won't name names lol.
I really appreciate the contrast between your handling of that creationist thread and other insulting ones. I don't always agree with you in the more political threads but I always listen to what you have to say because you're not insecure/anti-intellectual/whatever in the exchange of ideas, even silly ones. That's rare, thanks.
