I've been very interested in dreams and the psychology of dreams since I was a little kid. So since I can remember I have always had a dream journal. I've forgotten it from time to time or lost it once in a while. But I have records going back to the early 1990s of my dreams.

Recently, I've gone through another phase of leaving out my journal. When I picked it back up again... my dream recall has hit the dirt. So back to square one again. :D

    Michael Keaton, vampire hunter!

by fanfair on 09-05-2013 at 06:15 PM
At the very top of an apartment building there is a duplex, with a rooftop lawn we share. I live in one, Michael Keaton lives in the other.

In the middle of the night, he is always up late working on things. Researching something. I catch glimpes of him in a chair or at a desk from the lawn. We do not speak. We make no contact of any kind. His office is filled with pitchers of his family but he lives alone.

One night there is a knock at the door, I open it to find a bunch of young punk looking kids dressed in all black. They want me out of the apartment. I told them no, they laughed. They looked like teenagers who would play vampire the masquarade. Because they are all actually vampires. (dream sign!!)

They set up shop in my place to keep an eye on Michael Keaton. Their leader seems obsessed with him, and knowing what he's researching. The others don't care about that. There is a power struggle going on in the group.

One evening, Michael Keaton travels for the night, and the vampire leader is able to sneak over into his home and snoop around. He finds two very interesting hidden rooms full of treasure and collections of books. All of it seems very important and cool. When he goes back to my apartment the others demand they kill the vampire hunter on the spot (I assume Michael Keaton.)

The leader tells them no, he is important. He's working on uncovering the King vampire. The other teenagers rebel and kill their leader and then kill Michael Keaton when he returns home. It's a nasty blood bath.

I read in the paper that there is an estate sale in the other half of my old duplex and I go to see what I had been missing since being forcably removed from my home.

His apartment was a shine to his family that had been murdered by the undead. For some reason a bunch of little shop keepers had set up in the secret rooms and were selling everything like it was a flee market. It made me very sad. All of the really cool books and treasure were gone. Sold to someone who wouldn't understand the importance of it. As I'm deciding if I should buy something or not, I over hear a conversation between merchants. One of them said "you know they didn't find a body."

    Reoccuring Kitchen

by fanfair on 09-04-2013 at 06:13 PM
I wouldn't call them nightmares but I am very frustrated with them. Last night would make five total in the last two months. I think I'll make it a dream sign.

Recently a little mean old chef I used to work for tried to get a hold of me to see if I'm still interested in working for him. I am not.

But the idea bothered me on some level I didn't realize it could. This is the fifth dream I've had in two months about physically working in this kitchen I've never once set foot in before. And it's always the same layout. I should swing by to see if my subcontious is correct.

The dreams always start the same. There is a "breakfast nook" with a range top and several strange small pieces of equipment I've never seen before. It's surrounded by a light colored wooden bar area where old people get to watch me make their breakfast. I'll find myself cooking, then a customer will complain. Or the sus chef will start asking me to do other work and I fall behind.

Once I was late by 12 hours, and got a talking to. Last night I found myself taking a 3 hour break just so I wouldn't have to return to this senario, but when I came back, I found all the other cooks doing my job in frustration and I still had 3 more hours on the end of my shift. Last night I was finally able to clock out of work and end this shift I've never once been able to get through. So I went into the locker room to change and found old people who complained to the front desk I was changing out of my uniform.

I haven't worked for this man in nearly 7 years, I feel like I'm slaving away for him in my sleep! yuk!

    Childhood Lucidity

by fanfair on 09-01-2013 at 07:41 AM
When I was only a kid. Maybe seven or eight years old. I had a strange dream about leaving my grandmothers house in the middle of the night and walking into an alley way behind her home. There, beneath the street light was a man, waiting for me. I didn't know what think of him. He was wearing a black old fashioned suit and seemed kind of intimidating.

When I walked up to him he made me an offer, I could be an ordinary little girl, or I could walk with him into the darkness and see things and do things no one else could. It was that exact moment I believe I became lucid. I was suddenly aware of my surroundings in a way I had never been before. Everything seemed so surreal and I knew that I was dreaming. But I had a very serious choice to make.

The man held his hand out to me and I felt it was the wrong choice. I became afraid and ran away. As I looked back, I saw the man hang his head and walk away into the darkness.

Suddenly I wasn't so sure it had been the right choice.
To this day I regret that choice. I have been trying hard to get back to lucidity ever since. With very little luck. Nothing but a struggle. I'd like to apologize to him, in the future.
