I quite often have toilet themed dreams, and I usually have a large glass of water before bed to help me wake for a WBTB. I've always been a bit worried that peeing in a dream might translate into...

I don't disagree with your sentiment VinceField, but you can just ignore his tone! The rest of us can then make it more "wholesome" (not really a word I would use). I did just check one definition...

Hi ThreeCat, the waiting around thing may just be me. It's possible that I am just not accomplished enough to drop back into REM after an awakening at the end of, or during, a REM episode. I have...

Hey EamonWill, trolling he may be, but the controversial heading certainly got some attention, and has drawn some interesting comments. I think the ends justified the means?

If you believe that lucid dreaming will not make you more spiritual, then it will not. Carry on playing in blissful ignorance (nothing wrong with that by the way - whatever floats your boat). If...

Hey Nfri, I have a theory that it's not as simple as that. My WILDs (mostly supplement assisted, but a few naturally) occur I think by waiting until the brain's chemistry is suited to REM, simply by...

I have one tip, on your long commute, if you are driving yourself, try to do a form of ada as you drive, I.e. Don't go into auto-pilot but look out for all hazards, constantly think about speed,...

Just thought I'd recount my recent success. I've had a long frustrating time with LD'ing generally. Started out "naturally" and had about a dozen very short LDs (max 5-10s), mostly by WILD, with a...

I do wonder if sometimes the act of opening your dream eyes might start the visuals in an LD, but that would only happen in a WILD presumably. I.e. You start with your real eyes closed as you do the...

I dream about all sorts of weird devices, and sometimes get to inspect then very closely. I've taken a couple apart as well, but I've never done any lucid stiff with devices - not had long enough...

I agree with what Dutchraptor has said - you are not doing yourself any good only sleeping for 5 hours, and you probably won't be able to lucid dream with that little sleep either. One of the...

HA! Had my first long LD this morning. At last! I'd taken a week off, and last night woke naturally at about 4, took 2x4mg GAL tablets (with Ch bitar in) and tried to WILD. I had a vivid dream but...

I've suggested this was my problem a few times on the forum. I theorised that if brain chemistry was important, then maybe it was only because my brain chemistry had started to shift towards waking...

I'm running in a long distance race with a few others. It is very vivid but not lucid. We go round a corner and then have to climb a steep incline. At the top we get bogged down in mud, and have to jump across a small gap, but there's a weird sort of matting under foot. I stop and opposite me is a guy who is obviously the instructor on the course. He stares at me and after quite a long while says, "don't I know you?", although I'm not sure I actually hear the words. He is in his thirties with a neatly trimmed but full beard and moustache, with neat hair and a young looking face. I move on and slide down a steep slope to the ground the other side, realising that he is a group captain, and I have a strong wish that I was a group captain as well.
On the ground I start walking along a path with a concrete wall on my left, and I suddenly become aware that I'm dreaming. I put my hand up to the wall and look closely at it, trying to stabilise by inspecting it. The wall has a coarse granular appearance with sparkling particles in it, but I can't seem to focus properly on it. I move on a bit and try again, but the same thing happens. There seems to be a weird fuzziness to the surface.
I get frustrated with that and decided that I need to change the scene, so the wall disappears and I move over to where there is a small tree and I put my arms out around it. Then I get the urge to fly up and I levitate straight up and above the tree. I move up quite slowly at first, but then as I glance around I can see some houses, but it's a bit vague.
Then almost as suddenly I'm back on the ground, but at the edge of a cliff, way above a bay with the sea below. Without any fear I decide to dive into the bay below and I jump up and dive down. At first I accelerate quite fast but then as I go down my speed slows a bit to a steady pace. Down below I can see a sort of long cloud that at first looked to be on the water, but the water is way below and this cloud is above. As I approach it the cloud comes up to me, and then it becomes a woman in a long white flowing dress. She flies up to meet me, and I pull up into the air with her as we come close together.
(All this was lucid).
