German invasion stopped by the birds

by hallahill on 10-07-2010 at 11:17 AM
Most of the town is gathered in the town hall (in this dream it's more of a large, one story tree building with two rooms), preparing for what we've heard on the news: Germany is invading Norway, starting right here in my home town!

Me and my dad are in sort of a leading position, advisors to the mayor. We try to keep people calm, but they're very afraid of what the germans will do. In the back room, people are even more hectic. "Where are the birds? They should've been here by now, I really hope they'll be here in time," says the mayor in a worried tone. I tell him that the birds are reliable. With the help of 100 birds, we will be able to defeat the germans.

People in the front room are screaming, and we can now see the germans coming down the hills in their tanks. At least 5 tanks. Dammit, we're as good as dead... A German leader goes out of one of the tanks and tells us through a megafone (in perfect English): "You might as well give up and accept defeat. You're surrounded!". All hope seems to have gone. There's too many of them, and the birds haven't shown.

But then! I hear noises from the back room, where dozens of white pigeons can be seen as they flow in to the room, as our desperately needed backup. They do not talk, after all they're just birds. But they seem to know very well what has to be done: attack the germans. We all feel very much safer and better now. We attack them, with the birds using their claws and wings to confuse the germans. They fly into the tanks and make them loose control. We're winning! I'm still on the inside of the building, no need for me to even get involved.

The germans are not very dangerous anymore, and right outside the window closest to me I can see a female reporter with a film camera. She puts his camera into an opening in a german tank. "What is she doing," I ask a girl next to me. "She's making fun of them, and they can't even shoot her," the girl replies. We have a good laugh at the silly germans, who thought they could invade us. Didn't they know we had the birds on our side?

    Guitar playing LD

by hallahill on 09-30-2010 at 12:13 PM
I'm in sort of a control room with some large glass windows for walls, knowing that I'm dreaming. I'm telling to myeslf a few times "remember that you're dreaming", but I don't do any RCs or things to stabilize. The whole dream seems a bit shaky and unstable, but it's quite vivid.
I go out from the control room, and I'm now in the living room in my family's cabin. My friend E, a massive body builder type, comes towards me.
    - "You gotta come back to the party", he says.
    - "No, I don't", I reply. "You see, this is just a dream."
He looks at me with the normal empty stare my DCs tend to get when I tell them it's all just a dream. I take a step closer to him and slap him in the face. I slap him pretty hard, but I can't feel all that much in my hand.
    - "See? If this wasn't a dream, that would really hurt". He nods slowly, but still with the empty look on his face.

I find out I want to try and play guitar in an LD, so I turn around and there is my favourite acoustic in its case. I take it out of the case and start playing, while still walking around a bit. First I look at the fretboard and play something reasonably normal, but I then pick up speed. A lot. At one point I stop looking at the fretboard and myself playing, and it's more like walking around and listening to Tommy Emmanuel play, but the song is really cool (wish I could remember it!). I decide to go outdoors to fly to another place, but here the dream starts fading away to black
, and I wake up. I try to DEILD into another dream, but I come to the conclusion I'm too awake and it's too late in the morning, so I open my eyes.

All in all not that great an LD, both in content and lucidity. However, as long as I don't drink or smoke or anything, I now seem able to have an LD every night with a WBTB

5 LDs chained together by False Awakenings

by hallahill on 09-28-2010 at 01:37 PM
I woke up around 9.30 and decided that I would have an LD if I could just fall asleep again. Didn't do any MILD or VILD techniques really, and couldn't even remember any previous dreams from that night, but somehow I still felt certain that it would work. At some point I must've fallen asleep, can't remember having any other dreams before the first LD.

    1. I'm in my room in my new house (or something similar), as usual just knowing that I'm dreaming. I do the nose pinch RC just to be sure, and get up. As it dawns on me that I'm having another LD, I have to concentrate not to get too excited and wake up. As I walk around the house, I keep rubbing my hands and doing RCs to stabilize. I then go outside. I'm not really outside my house, I'm in a street of an unknown city, with a park straight in front of me, and DCs walking around. I keep telling myself out loud that I'm dreaming, and that this is all my creation. I walk around for a little while, just looking at all the people. I walk over to the park and feel the grass. I can now feel my eyes getting shut and the dream fade away, but I do not panic. I feel that this may just be a false awakening, since I had something similar happen to me just a couple of nights ago.

    2. I realise I'm awake, by the nose-pinch. Get up again. On the way out I do the finger-through-palm RC, which is now really disgusting cause the hand is covered in blood. I get out there, and I try to fly. I get up maybe 50 meters in the air, and have the most amazing view. It really is incredible, the whole world is in front of me, under a beautiful blue sky. I fall down again, and decide not to try that again any more. I try to run, but it's like my feet are dragging through syrup. Instead I walk over to the park, where there's a lot of students or hippies. I speak to them briefly, I then ask if there's a lift somewhere nearby, because I want to do task of the month. I think to myself if maybe it's too late, but realise it's the 28th. I think to myself, "there should be a lift around the corner, on the side of this rock. When I get there, there's a big door, but it doesn't lead in to a lift. I walk in to it anyway to see if there's any buttons, but there's none. I go out again and try to summon something, but wake up from the concentration. Or FA, that is.

    3. Once again I'm in darkness first, and realize I'm not awake, just having an FA, or the end of a dream. I just wait for a while, then do the nose-pinch and open my eyes. I walk out in the corridoor, still not 100% sure that I'm dreaming. I don't wanna wake up my housemates by talking loud because I think I'm dreaming, so I do the finger-through-palm. Goes straight through of course, so I celebrate by smashing up my housemate's Xbox. I then go outside again.Still the same park. This time I'm thinking maybe dream sex, so I start looking for a good partner. Can't find anyone, and my eyes are forced shut again. Another FA.

    4. This time I let the dream just manifest itself around me, as I remember from the DEILD guide. I'm now already outside. I see a man sitting on a bench with a small dog in his lap. I go over to him and play with his dog for a little while. I then say "did you know this is just a dream?". He looks at me with a strange look in his eyes, and silently shakes his head. "Yeah, I'm dreaming you see, and you are only a figment of my imagination. How does that make you feel?". He just looks at me with quite a sad look in his eyes, as if it saddens him that he's not really real. I don't really feel for him, as I know that he's not a person at all, just my subconscious trying to make me feel bad. I look at his very strange glasses and wonder about just stealing them, but I loose interest and walk to the park instead.
I can't remember excactly what happens here, but there's yet another FA, where I'm still in no doubt that I'm dreaming.

    5. This time it's time for sex, even though that's a stupid decision and I know it. Before I go anywhere I start to realise that I may not remember all of my fantastic LD stuff though, so I try to summarise what I've done. I also do have a feeling that attempting dream sex might wake me up, but I'm fine with it. I then get out and look for a partner around town. I find her, not all that amazing, but good enough. Rest is not that great tbh, and I wake up for real in the middle. I don't mind really, it's time to just feel good about having had half an hour of LDs, and write it all down. Looking at the time, it seems like the total LD time must've been around 30 minutes, which is a new record

My DG is in Las Vegas, and I can only fly two meters off the ground

by hallahill on 09-24-2010 at 02:34 PM
I've just had quite an epic dream about flying around the countryside in a homemade helicopter-thingie, and now I find myself in my room at home, just knowing that I'm in a dream. I am careful not to get too excited, and try to stabilize the dream by holding on to stuff, rubbing my hands and doing the finger-through-palm RC. Still, it's like my eyes are forced close, and there's nothing I can do to help it.

Next thing I know is that I wake up, but I'm so sure it's a false awakening, so I pinch my nose and can still breathe. This time I can get out of my bed and walk around, and the dream is very vivid, sharp and relatively stable. I walk downstairs, where I meet my parents. They say that it's time for dinner, but I tell them "actually, this is only a dream". They look at me really strangely, but I don't care, as I'm 100% sure I'm dreaming. I then remember that DC's sometimes have interesting things to say, so I ask them: "do you have anything to tell me?". Their answers are really vague and nonsensical, so I leave and go outside instead.

I want to fly, so I go out on the lawn and try to just let go of gravity. I fail miserably, can't even jump very high. I try to flap my arms and everything, but nothing works. A little disappointed, I decide to instead try to flip over a car that I see driving towards the house, out on the road. Not caring for the DC in the car, I go out in front of it, and really easily I lift the whole car up and put it down on it's side.

Reasonably happy with that achievement, I decide to go talk to the DC's again. My uncle is there now, carrying a lot of cases with DVD's into our house. I want to ask them to show me my Dream Guide, but I can't for the life of me figure out what they're called. I try to ask them for my "inner advisor", or something like that. They don't tell me anything useful, so I ask them for a hint. My dad tells me to go look at the DVD cover on the dinner table. I can't remember exactly what DVD it is, but it does have something to do with gambling and Las Vegas. I decide that I have to go to Las Vegas to find my dream guide.

I come to the conclusion that the easiest way to get there would be to teleport, but I'd rather just fly. So I go out and try again. This time my uncle is there, cheering for me (he is really, really excited about me flying). I manage to get a few meters up in the air this time, but at a really slow speed. When I get up though, I loose confidence for some reason, and I fall down again. I now try to concentrate really hard on the flying, but I concentrate too hard instead,
    and I wake up.

I wake up and jot down some notes in my DJ. I have a strong feeling that I can get back to do another LD though, so I don't use too much time before I go to sleep again. This time the excact same thing happens: I'm in my room, knowing I'm dreaming. I go outside to fly again, but I need to stabilize the dream. I do the slow spinning around technique, and I absolutely love the feeling of it. I then try to fly again, with a little more success. I manage to get maybe 20 meters up in the air at a very fast speed, but then I become overwhelmed and just fall down again. After this I can't remember exactly what happens, but I suspect it's an FA or two.

Anyway, they're not that long or interesting, but it's been almost two weeks since I had my last one, and these make me feel a lot more confident about getting more frequent and vivid LDs in the future. Can't wait to try again

Second short lucid, in the woods

by hallahill on 09-07-2010 at 08:13 AM
This morning I sort of screwed up my dream recall at first, by thinking I didn't remember anything, but turned out I just didn't try hard enough. Therefore, I almost forgot my second, short lucid! It's still a bit hazy, but at least I know most of the lucid parts.

As for the dream: Me, my sister and my old friend V, who I haven't seen for years, were out in the forest near our cabin searching for something. One of the things were a BB gun. We were right nearby. There was also a mouse and a rabbit there for some reason. I walked a bit away from the others and found the gun. As I picked it up, it struck me: "Why am I doing this, again? And why is V here, haven't seen him for years. Oh shit, it's a dream sign!" I quickly did the nose plug breathing RC, and I could breathe freely!
I touched some stuff around me to try and stabilize the dream. I went back to the others and told them there was no point, as this was just a lucid dream. They just looked at me with a strange look and kept searching. I didn't really care, I just wanted to explore the LD. But I wasn't 100% lucid, so I didn't have full control of what I was doing. I first wanted to fly, so I jumped up. Only came a few meters, and for some reason I blamed it on the forest. I then tried to change the whole scenery. Not only teleport, but actually to change the whole dream world around me. The whole ground started shaking, and it was like it all "bended" upwards, as if there was a volcano about to break loose. Then it all just slapped back in place, making leaves fly everywhere. I was so disappointed with the unsuccessful change, I lost lucidity.
I continued searching around for a little while, but then it struck me again that I was dreaming. I didn't do a proper RC this time, I just shouted out "this is a god damn dream," and stood there for a while looking at my sister and V, still trying to find the mouse or whatever. I had a real problem knowing what to do with my lucidity, for some stupid reason I couldn't think of ANYTHING! The dream started fading away, and I had a FA, which I can't even remember if I realised or not.

The whole thing only lasted for 3-5 minutes, but it was still great when I realised in the morning that I had had another LD
