    Calling into the Dark

by MusicDragon on 05-07-2013 at 12:59 AM
Before I go into detail, I must provide some context. A dear friend of mine had informed me that her great aunt was dying in the evening before I went to sleep. I had woken up at 3am for whatever reason and went back to sleep and actually jumped straight into a lucid dream. Instinctively, I began to call out to my friend's great aunt. I called and called, first using my voice, and eventually switching to mind calls. The dream was very dark and I wonder if I was really dreaming or just was just experiencing hypnogogia. Either way, her great aunt never came, and I was told later on in the day that she had passed away at that very hour. Talk about interesting coincidences~

    The Procession

by MusicDragon on 05-05-2013 at 12:00 AM
Apparently, in the dream, I was taking part of an odd parade procession. It felt like something I'd do for community service at the university, and I did recognize some classmates among the crowd of what I take were students. It was night time, and we congregated on a large enclosed field with overgrown grass, some of it reaching up to my knees. We were all carrying backpacks, and for some reason, I have a feeling that the procession had something to do with the movement of the planets. There was something that we were doing that was astronomy related, but I cannot remember what exactly. It just comes as a feeling.

So we all began to walk in a messy line and entered this large building whose inside reminded me a lot of my grandmother's house. We walked around in circles, into the house, back outside, into the house again. Occasionally, we would sit in an IMAX-kind of theater and watch a presentation or a video, and once again, I have a feeling it was astronomy related. At one point in time, we stayed outside and mingled. For whatever reason, I had apparently set my backpack down, and when it was time for us to move again, I left it there. So when we were inside the building, I realized my backpack was missing and I went back to get it. But when I went back outside, I was hit with a sort of deja vu, and realized that I was dreaming. By now, the skies had become lighter and were cloudy.

Giddy with the realization, I did what I always did in a lucid dream, which was to fly. So I spread my arms like wings, down-stroked, and took off. My first instinct was to summon a character, and decided I would try to have Sebastian (from Black Butler; I am a hopeless fan) appear. I tried to simply will him to appear, but the only thing that presented itself was a crow, which I took to be one of his forms. I began to follow the crow in the air and realized that it was flying in a weird slow-motion. I realized that the dream was decaying, so in attempt to keep it from falling apart further, I concentrated on the crow, and willed it to fly regularly. It worked for a while, but eventually, I wound up back in bed, awake.

This is the very first DILD I've had in over a month and I hope to have more.
