    The Sea Voyage

I know it's been a while, but I feel like this dream is worth writing down. I'll try to get back into the schedule.

I'm waiting for a ship at it's port. I don't specifically recall what my destination was, but I need to get on it. It finally arrives, and I get on. It starts out as a peaceful voyage, but as time goes on, the sea begins to get rough. Soon, we find ourselves steering away from waves and trying desperately to stay on board and keep the ship afloat. Sadly, we don't succeed. As a mighty wave crashes against the ship, our boat capsizes, sending us all overboard. I find myself swimming through the rough tides, searching for others. I finally find a few of my friends and we begin to swim to shore. After a while of swimming, we come across an odd, carnivalesque island.

We're greeted by an odd looking man, who's tending to the entrance of a roller-coaster. He welcomes us and informs us that the only way to reach the center of the island is through the roller-coaster. As I get on it, I can't help but feel that I've been on the ride. The ride is horror-themed, and pretty basic, providing weak scares and basic horror elements, up until the end. We round a corner and see a bloodied woman, whispering to herself in the dark, when she sees us, she lets out a blood-curling scream. Our trail then turns away and goes down a drop before ending. While I'm exiting the ride, I awake.

I'm still having these incredibly vague dreams, but they're becoming easier to recall. Maybe my practice is working.

In my dream, I'm on a ship. I can't remember our exact destination, but I do remember it being very cold and foggy. As our trip continues, the sea begins to grow rougher. Finally, a large gust of wind and a large wave crash our boat and we wash up ashore an island. On this shore, here is a large cave acting as a tunnel leading to higher ground. We are all reluctant to enter it, but finally I do. Once we get to higher ground, I notice that it's cold and snowy. Before me is a tundra, encircling a collection of small, but stable looking huts. The styling of the small town is industrial, and weak lights illuminate the short passageways acting as roads. Suddenly, the wind picks up and the people of the town begin to panic. I follow one into a house and find safety. Just as I ask him about the town, I awake.

    The Cabin (Mostly an Update)

Haven't had notable dreams lately. When I do, they aren't as vivid as they usually are. Go figure. I start a dream diary and I stop having dreams. I'm almost hoping for nightmares.

Anyway, as fain as this one was, I'll try to give it the best description possible. I was somewhere in the mountains, strapped to a table with some kind of force preventing my escape. I don't recall if I managed to escape or if I was tortured there, but I remember a strong sense of terror. I also had the faint idea that I had been there a long time, perhaps my entire life.

I might start trying lucid dreaming to see if I can trigger a more vivid dream, but I see that as a last resort. I will turn to it if these weak dreams persist, though.

    The Boardwalk

by Ryonne on 04-10-2012 at 06:43 AM
Alright, this is my first dream journal post. I'm going to be porting a large number of the entries from my actual handwritten journal onto this website. Keep in mind, however, that my dreams tend to be incredibly dark and obscure. Anyway, all this said, let us begin.

In my dream, I was in a sort of dock city. I was walking with someone else whose exact identity I cannot recall. We were walking beside water on a sort of boardwalk. At the beginning of our walk, the buildings lining the sides of the boardwalk were clean and fresh. But as we continued, the buildings grew dirtier and darker. It was almost as if we were entering a slum area. We kept walking. Slowly, the buildings fell into decay. The boards lining our pathway were rotting, the bricks were falling, and the doors, having lost support of their hinges, simply lay at the opening of each decrepit house. About a mile or two in, I saw the first corpse. He was lying outside of his house, mangled and bloody. As I continued, more bodies lined the floor. For whatever reason, I just kept walking.

What once appeared as a slum was now a ruin. Pieces of roof and debris lined the floor. Bodies lay in piles, pools of blood collecting beside them. The water beside me grew rough, and the ground became slippery with blood. Everything was coated in a shade of red. Then, I reached a dead end, where the boardwalk had simply rotted away to nothing. And there, standing at the edge of the dock, was a tall, dark, humanoid creature. His figure was illogical and chaotic, constantly contorting, while his head remained stationary. He just stood there, staring at me. It was then that I finally halted my forward shuffle. Both of us stood there, staring each other down. Then, all of a sudden, the rough water began to rise. It collected around my heels, swallowing the boardwalk and washing over my body. I lost sight of the creature. However, even with the water collecting around me, I remained frozen, staring straight ahead into space. Just as the water passed my head, I awoke.
