Yes, it sounds like a form of hypnogogia. Try using a guided relaxation technique and then visualization instead of a blank mind to get there. Do progressive relaxation or flex-freeze and then...

Sure it's normal. Just because some people say it's impossible to read in dreams, that light switches don't work, and that machinery malfunctions...doesn't mean they are correct. My dreams often...

At first I was baffled by Hypnagogia, I wasn't sure what it was. Now, I assume it is exactly the same as those mini-dreams of which you speak. I often have spontaneous 2- or 3-second vivid...

Yup, this was a hypnic jerk. They occur when the residual muscle tension is lost as your body relaxes for sleep. Absolutely normal, and sometimes incredibly startling.

Rubbing your hands together indeed is a good way of keeping lucid Also, just yelling "Clarity!!" or "Stay lucid!!!" sometimes helps Although I've been lucid 2x, I didn't think of doing either...

Im still very new at this but I have read a bunch of people who rub their hands together to keep lucid and extend their dreams.

What you've just described sounds a lot like a hypnic jerk. They happen to everyone and occur as you're just about to fall asleep. They can be made more frequent by irregular sleep schedules or...

It would be a good idea to experiment with some RC's after you are already Lucid. Just to see how they work for you, and to get yourself used to doing them in dreams. This is especially true for...

This happened to me today too. It was indeed a False Awakening. Whether you dream of just waking up and lying in bed, or you dream of getting up and starting you day, an FA is simply when you dream...

How vivid was it? If it was extremely vivid, it was a false awakening. if it just seemed like just another dream, than it was. You just simply had a dream about writing a dream down haha.

Yeah, the dream you had is the perfect example of why you should always do more than one! You could check your hands, and then pinch your nose, I think an important factor is to also really focus on...

I've had problems with the nose-pinch RC before too. For me the problems came as a result of doing them to often. I try and use my watch more often now, but the nose-pinch remains the easiest for me...
