I wish I had that time! I manage to sleep 9 hours during weekdays. I get out of bed like a zombie(yes, after 9 hours sleep ), and in the weekend, 12 hours, or 114 if I didn't manage to sleep 9 hours in the weekdays!
I guess I wouldn't be able to sleep 12 hours each day if I had the time. It would regulate to 10 hours a day(still a lot?)

    From an unfamiliar place

by Whatsnext on 03-11-2014 at 02:06 PM
The LD I had last night was significant in several respects.

    1. I didn't try to have it
    2. It happened while I was in my hammock
    3. It was long by my standards (around five minutes)

I think the LD was caused by my starting to read LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.

And it gives me some evidence in support of a hypothesis that I have: that it's harder to enter LDs while sleeping in a hammock but easier to stay in them, due to the deeper sleep I get in the hammock.

Usually when I want to LD I WBTB about 3.5 hours after going to sleep, the best time for me, I've found, and instead of returning to sleeping in my hammock I just sleep on the floor. This gives me a much higher rate of LDing but the LDs are all short and sucky, often less than half a minute long regardless of how hard I try to stabilize.

It's hard to say how long this LD was, since it seemed to occur early in the night and, actually, I almost didn't remember it when I got up in the morning. It came back to me as I was stepping under the shower. But I'd say it was 5 minutes or so.

It was very vivid but my control of it was poor. All of my summons failed and all I could do was walk around my house. It was winter outside, very cold, and I was naked. I could feel the winter cold, but it wasn't unpleasant. I started flying and that woke me up, as often is the case. I'm going to quit flying in dreams for a while. It's very easy for me but always wakes me up

    Hanging on the Edge

by Whatsnext on 02-18-2014 at 02:50 AM
I was at my home, but instead of a forest behind it there was a cliff falling at least a mile down into a beautiful river valley. At the top of the cliff there was 20 feet or so of rock at a 45 degree angle before it went totally vertical. A friend of mine who's very much into hiking and climbing was climbing around on the horizontal part, so I went over and climbed down a bit to talk to her. Right at the edge of the cliff, where it goes vertical, there was a hand-sized crack in the rock. She climbed down to it, put her hands it in, and let herself fall off the edge. The wind tried to pull her outwards over the valley but, holding onto the crack on the rock, she ended up floating over the precipice like a flag. She wanted me to join her, and I did. So I was there looking down miles into the abyss, with the wind trying to pry my hands out of the crack. It was very strong, and when it shifted, I could feel my hands shifting in the crack, and I would feel vividly anxious, thinking I was about to lose my grip. I said to my friend beside me: "We'll die if we fall, isn't this dangerous?" and her answer was, "of course not, if you're brave enough to try, you're strong enough to hold on." And those words came across to me as such a powerful expression of freedom and vitality, I knew it was true and wasn't worried anymore.

    Master criminal

by Whatsnext on 01-07-2014 at 03:47 PM
I was on a plane with my hands tied up and guarded by three guards who were all female I think. We were being transported to prison for mass theft. My partner in crime was there tied up too. We caught the guards unawares and did some fancy stuff with our feet to beat them up and escape our bonds. Then we took some parachutes and did a HALO jump and opened our chutes right above a river that was flowing out of the city. We landed in the river with our view of most of the rest of the city obscured by an apartment bloc that only had those little high-in-your-wall windows on that side of the building, and no normal viewing windows, so no one saw us touch down in the water and everyone thought we hadn’t opened our chutes and had died. At this point I noticed that most of the city was very run-down and looked like it had been firebombed. I had been stealing with this guy so that I could pay my own room and board for my last semester of university.

So now that we didn’t have to worry about the police coming after us anymore, we went back to the university where we were working on writing a story for a class with a third guy. We had plagiarized H.P. Lovecraft some and the teacher got suspicious, so we changed some words to make it less plagiarizy. When we finished we went to the store to buy some candy which had something - I have no idea what - to do with the story. Aaaand that's basically it.

Three nights of LDs in a row

by Whatsnext on 01-05-2014 at 08:17 PM
This is my first diary entry and I am sort of on a roll right now, with three nights of LDs in a row. Sounds great, but all of the LDs were only 1 or 2 minutes. On the bright side, I've been getting lots of practice to try stabilizing dreams, but nothing seems to be working well.

Anyway, in this dream, I got up to go to the bathroom, and I was actually thinking about writing down my last dream in my journal. But when I got to the bathroom the toilet was in a strange place and I caught on then that I was still dreaming. As soon as I become lucid my whole body started tingling, which happens to me in a lot of LDs. I started rubbing my hands together and focused on the sensation of friction, and I kneeled on the floor and tried to feel the ground on my knees. I tried to summon a person because I felt that talking to a DC would help me stay in the dream, but no one showed up. So I walked around a bit in my dream house, still rubbing my hands together, and the dream ended after maybe 2 minutes total.
