Giant Bugs and being Stuck in the Road?

Sometimes I can consider them to be nightmares and sometimes not, but I have recurring things happen in my dreams. Usually, it involves bugs. Giant bugs. It started when I was very young and had a dream that giant ants nested in the top corners of the living room and would crawl along the ceiling. I've also had dreams involving killer spider-like bugs, giant tree bugs, and giant velvet ants, and I'm sure there are others. The other recurring dream that I have is usually part of a larger dream. I'll be in the middle or near the edge of the street, and I'll see a car in the distance. I'll be unable to get out of the street efficiently, and sometimes will trip and fall. The car usually misses, but not by much.
Why am I cursed with the giant bugs and cars? Why do I dream about the bugs so often?
