      Nightmares every night now.

So I joined this forum to discuss these very odd dreams I've been having. They are nightmares not night terrors, as in, I'm not terrified out of my wits or anything, as I frequently have strange nightmares, so even in my dreams I suppose I subconsciously feel no fear whilst I sleep. I sometimes enjoy them because movies don't scare me. I'd like to know your thoughts on these.

I did not write any down so it's recollection from memory.

      The Demon Box:

I was standing in a room, looked like a loft but it was a place I had never physically been to (that I know of). It was s small room, with one of the walls slanting inward from floor to ceiling with a window. There were people there. A women, and two men. And then there was a box. A square, wooden box with designs on it. It was light colored wood, like a Chinese puzzle box, and it sat on a table in the middle of the small room. We all stood around it, and suddenly, one of them started bleeding from his mouth, is if something was killing him. And then other one died in the same way, I don't remember who. Then the box possessed me and I realized what was going on. As I was possessed I could see the box for what it was. It was dark red, with the texture of muscle after the skin has been pealed away. It had black line running along it in an our glass shape along the sides. It was covered with chains, and i could feel just the pure evil coming off of it. It had something in the middle of the top side. It was a mouth, or an eye, or a gateway into hell. It opened up, I assume to swallow me, but I woke up.

I don't know what to think about this one.

      The Ghost Killer:

This one if very fragmented. I was in a house I had never seen (that I remember) and there was a spirit in the house that took the shape of a man, with a flannel shirt, long slightly curly hair, brown coarse beard, and denim jeans. He first appeared while I was in the kitchen of this place. He just appeared in the corner of the room and began to float towards me. But, someone was in the kitchen that I was with, but I didn't recognize them. When that person turned to look at him, he vanished. But he starred at me, with fixated eyes, that were sunken in. The pupil's small.

      here it Jumps

I opened the door and his face was there, mere inches from mine, his beady eyes peering into my soul with lust to kill me. He hand started to slowly come from the crack in the door, a box cutter glinting in his hand. I was frozen again, locked in terror. Then! the person from the kitchen who I now realized was some girl I didn't recognize grabbed my shoulder, and I could move! So I dropped and rolled away, and he reached through the cracked door and stabbed her in the back with that box cutter, and it stuck stayed into her back. And I leaned in closer to the ghost and I said "Pretty cleaver huh? I keep avoiding you." and he starred right back into my soul and said "Now I'm gunning for you." As he phased away, like fading mist.

      here it jumps again

I walk into a room, right in front of me a coffee table and a small brown sofa, like you would see an older persons home, with dull yellow strips running along it. To left of me was a wall, and to the right of me was all glass, and a glass sliding door, like a sun room. So I walk into the room, and I feel the ghost things presence, so I turn and I run for my life, I run to the door and fling it open, running through it without a second though. But suddenly, I WAS BACK IN THE ROOM I JUST RAN OUT OF! and then I was frozen again. I was in the corner of the room, frozen, and I could that thing all around me. The girl walked into the room, and didn't see me because she immediately headed towards the glass door. I tried to scream for her to help me, but my throat seized up and I could only manage to rasp. I looked up and saw a ceiling fan that was on, so I reached my hand into the blades, so that the noise would get her attention. I put my hand up and the fan blades hit my fingers, and she turned, and I was unfrozen. Then, I woke up.

This dream was last night, and even though it was fragmented I can recall images like the mans face, the sun room, and the box cutter perfectly.

      The Bee:

A bee flew into my ear and got stuck, i could feel it wriggling around in there, buzzing up a storm. I pinned it with my pinkie finger, and slowly drew it out of my ear. Then I woke up. VERY ODD.

Anway, I will for sure be posting more as they are becoming more frequent. I'd love to hear any thought on this, as wondering about it alone is creepy at the house by myself

My thought is that based on what you wrote here these are not nightmares. Nightmares are something that scares/terrifies/upsets one. The same content could be presented to another person, and if that person were scared, these would be nightmares, but to you they are not. Your mind is presenting you horror movies for your enjoyment in your dreams. If this is something you like, then enjoy them. It's a person's emotional reaction that determines whether a dream is something to worry about for that person. If you are upset, then you have a problem to solve, but no reason to fix it if it is not broken. The only caveat to that is if you for example were having dreams of your killing people and enjoying it, and then woke up from them and saw nothing wrong with that and wished you could do that in real life, then you would really need help and there would be a problem even though you might not realize it, but I don't see that here, and even in that case the really disturbing part would be your waking reaction to the dreams - sane people can and do dream of murdering people, but then they are disturbed by it upon waking up. In your dreams, if you are not upset by them and kind of enjoy them, and they do not have a negative impact on waking life, then that would neither be a nightmare not crazy, you just enjoy horror movies and your mind knows it and provides you this entertainment, I think.

Edit: Btw, the distinction between nightmare and night terror: a nightmare is a scary upsetting disturbing dream that happens in the REM phase of your sleep, and usually has visuals and audio and strong negative emotions. Often people wake from them and remember the nightmare vividly and continue to be disturbed by it after wake up. A night terror happens in deep sleep. The sleeper will cry out or wail uncontrollable, and be hard or impossible to wake up. Then the sleeper may well calm down without waking, and will not remember any of it the next morning. Night terrors give nightmares to family members who witness them. My younger son once had one and it shook me to the core, but he did not remember it.

Thank you for your reply, and for clearing up my confusion about the meanings. I suppose I was just looking for some outside perspective on them, even though I know dreams are just a confusing mess of subconscious imagery and thoughts, it's nice to talk about them. Thank you!

KipZor, Could you give us a bit of conte t of what is going on in your life right now, what are the big challenges you are facing, what a some issues you are having? It's really hard to analyze a dream out of context because two people can have similar dreams and it may mean something totally different because of what is going on in their lives and thus the similarities may be superficial. Without context, I am drawing a blank here. Perhaps someone else who is into universal symbols dream interpretation can respond with just this info given, but I tend to think that dreams are more individualized, and their messages become clearer if one knows a bit about the dreamer.

Is there a girl in your life? Is there something in your life that your subconscious could interpret as a ghost - something haunting you?

The bee buzzing in your ear, a busy bee, bugging you ... Is there something bugging you, something you heard?

If course, if I had that dream it would mean something totally different because I am terrified of bees and one actually did fly into my ear when I was a kid, so for me that dream would probably be a literal nightmare, but for you it may be more symbolic.

Of course, there is also the possibility that you heard a buzzing sound of your alarm clock, and incorporated it as a bee into your dream - I once converted my alarm clock into a teapot in one of my dreams.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
