Nightmares and Lucidity
I find that every time I am having a bad dream/nightmare I seem to instantly realise that I am dreaming and become lucid. When become lucid, I realise that I can easily just escape the dream by commiting suicide in my dream, knowing that I will not die and end up jumping off a bridge or a cliff, realising that before I hit the bottom I will wake up.
Anyone else know why its like this/had this happen to them?

Yep, nightmares can be great ways to get lucid. I think it's the "Oh, no. This can't be happening." reaction doing most of the work.
Whenever I become lucid during a nightmare, I tend to confront it. While I could easily wake myself up, it tends to be more satisfying to kick some ass.
For instance, I was having a nightmare a couple days ago about AvP, except the Aliens and Predators were on the same side. I became lucid as the two main baddies started coming after me. I simply reached out my hands and started screwing with their bodies using my TK, making them absolutely powerless as I crashed them into walls and each other.
Of course, there are the occasional psychological nightmares where there is no clear antagonist. Just realizing it's a dream is usually enough to stop those, though.
