There have been so many scientific breakthroughs in this past century alone that it would give anyone a headache. We went from point A - fast approached point B, only to discover point A never existed.

These scientific breakthroughs, and there are many, some spanning centuries, are paradigm shifting. They change our whole world, from how we see religion, spirituality, science, ourselves, our lives, each other. And its because that these breakthroughs would ask to change our world view, that they are met with fierce opposition.

One, it can take years for a breakthrough to reach the knowledge of the average person. Two, it can take several more years for scientists to refrain their breakthroughs in a way that's meaningful to daily life. Three, it can take decades, it not even a century or more for the breakthrough to sink in and change our perception of reality. Of course, it all depends on how much of our reality it asks us to change.

We still have breakthroughs today, that while we all know about them, it just remains knowledge that has little impact on our daily lives. For example, the title of this thread. Sunrise. Sunset. Our language still reflects that our society still has an earth-centered-universe mindset. The knowledge hasn't sunk in.

If it did, our language would reflect it! We would wake up and say "The earth has turned back to face our star again". One, that would remind us that the sun does not revolve around us. Two it would remind us that our dear sun is only a star, like any other star in the night sky. But it is our star, or the star that we belong to - making it a sun.

And who here can see country borders when you stare at the image of our dear planet?! You would think by now we would realize we are a global race and our borders are completely imaginary. Instead we blow each other up. In all honesty - there was a huge paradigm shift when the first image of our planet was published. What happened after was the hippie culture, peace and love! Unfortunately, the rest of the world wasn't ready for that shift.

Evolution, you know what, for the sake of this thread - lets not even bother going there.

Let's talk Einstein! Holy crap were all energy. Seriously, in what way does our daily language, or day to day activity, allow us to experience this mind-bending quantum truth? Society at large still sees THINGS. Physical things that have no relationship what so ever to what we conventionally consider energy.

There are two great scientific paradigm shifts that blow this concept, that we are separate physical things, out the door. But its not reflected in our culture anywhere - except in the fringe culture. One, atoms are actually vortexes of spinning energy, vibrating at different levels. That's what our body is composed of. We only perceive ourselves as physical because our body has this 'bounce' effect. But like water, plenty of particles enter us, and pass right through us, just fine.

Okay, so that's one breakthrough that SHOULD have changed society, but didn't quite. The second, is actually very simple. So simple its easily over looked. I'm talking about the singularity. Science tells us that everything that was, is and will be, all came from the same source. And since you can not create energy, everything that is, in a sense, already existed (in potential) in this singularity. INCLUDING US! Further more - this expansion hasn't ended!! It's STILL happening.

The Big Bang didn't just stop. It never stopped. It might have slowed down in a sense, but it didn't stop. Not only are we in the Big Bang, we are the Big Bang - we are a part of the very stuff of the ever expanding growing Universe.

Why is this paradigm shifting? Because it means were NOT separate from the Universe.

Christianity told us "God created the Universe. And then put us in it". We became separate from the Universe!! Separate from everything else!! And we sure acted like it. And maybe spiritually speaking this is true if you believe your soul is outside of time and space. However, time and space didn't exist in the singularity that science talks about!!! It wasn't created yet.

Our culture still acts like were just these things that just happen to be here. We feel...separate. Disconnected. But the science says otherwise. And profoundly. Who does not have the same source? Who is not the source in its expanded form? Wheres the love?

Thesescientific discoveries are enough to completely transform humanity, if only we would allow these breakthroughs to sink in and change us. It's yet to happen.

But despite that, science still moves forward. Now we have more breakthroughs. One of these hotly debated breakthroughs is the observer effect. On one camp, this a paradigm shifting science. In the other, this science isn't paradigm shifting and only effects the TINY reality, like particles. Creating a set of rules for the tiny and a set of rules for the large.

No offense, but it seems to me that people who fiercely debate that the observer effect has no effect what so ever in our daily lives - are just afraid to rethink reality. Sunrise, sunset huh?

Of course you can stare at your computer mouse and imagine it to be a bottle. Nothing happened right? You can argue this as absolute evidence that the observer effect only effects the world of tiny particles, and not big things like your computer mouse. But this would show you holding onto an older paradigm, rather than asking a host of questions of what the observer effect could mean. Or even, how does it work? (is all conscious attention measurably the same? and how much conscious attention, and how long does it take to change something that's already collapsed into a form?)

First, the observer effect suggests that the ability for consciousness to influence reality is a fundamental law of physics, since time innumerable. In other words, why would you suddenly assume that now you have this NEW magical ability to transform objects into new things? When nothing in your past life suggested such? It's not a NEW ability. It's a fundamental thing that's always been a part of your life! It would be discovering gravity and arguing "well, if I can move my feet above the ground then gravity can't be real!". This discovery doesn't give us a new magical ability, its a shift in understanding how everything already works.

What the observer effect does suggest is, your computer mouse is what it is because of PAST consciousness observing it. And that your consciousness NOW is influencing FUTURE events. We are living the outcome of our past actions and choices, with our PRESENT consciousness collapsing a future from a soup of potential futures.

This observer effect has been repeated with molecules. Which are like, huge in comparison to particles!

You can also argue "But if its true that our consciousness is a fundamental part of reality, then why isn't this all over the newspapers!". But that's part of the reason why I've made this thread. It is because that this science is so paradigm shifting, PARADIGM SHATTERING, that its met fierce opposition. In other cases, complete denial that this repeatable experiment ever took place.

To call a science pseudo because it isnt mainstream is dangerous, when mainstream is what is accepted by society. It doesn't matter how many times the scientists repeat this experiment, even with large molecules that are the foundation of biochemistry. It will never be "mainstream" until it has already shifted the paradigm!

The earth being round wasn't mainstream until, how many years later?

Other breakthroughs are so mind chattering, that the scientists themselves have no idea what they've just witnessed! Or even, what the hell does it mean? What the hell does it mean when DNA can make light mimic its shape, even after the DNA is taken away? What does that mean?

Science is onto something amazing, AMAZING. That society at large might be in complete denial of, for another hundred years. Or who knows, maybe we will make the shift in our life times. Maybe even in a decade!

But this would be the greatest shift mankind has ever made since discovering music (what, you thought it would be fire? )
