Thread: Human nature!!

Everytime you look out your window you're directly observing human nature and all of its side effects. Things are the way they are because they cannot be any different.

i understand that everyday you see examples of downfalls of human nature however what im trying to do is take it to a more extream and personal level, for example the book "lord of the flies" follows the story of a group of young inoccent school boys who become traped on a island and they try to keep the comuning together however the boys quickly return to primitave ways of life and ends in murder , so do you believe that your frienly next door neighbourgh , ur friends at school or even your own family if the circumstances ( i.e. no authority for a length of time) where might could be capabel of murder for the simplest things ......

Human nature has brought pain and suffering as well as some joy to the world. It depends how the nature is used. Really most of human nature has made people greedy and that has led to stupid violence, but what can we do? It's our nature.

To understand ourselves we have to understand our brains. Its way of functioning and so on. Deep down we are animals, we even have the same animal brain that reptiles like crocodiles has. Its called the reptile brain. This part of the brain is the basis for further eveolution in the brain like the limbic system and cerebral cortex. The reptile brain keeps us as a organism alive, thats its only job. So when people go mad you could as well say that that is theyr primitiv brain taking over, they either fight or flight to survive. It is what have kept many species alive for millions of years.
However when the limbic(the motivation to live, feelings and so on) and cerebral cortex evolved(where we could reflect and think logically) we leapt forward with another view at nature. Our differnt brains, so to say, can now affect eachother so that we have endless other potential ways of dealing with a situation with. We can even overide to that exstent that we can choose to die if we want. Something that is strongly prohibited in a more primitiv brain. We are what we choose to be.

I either dont think things are so and so because its the only way to be. Things became this way and now they can become different if we want them to be. There is no way of beeing in either the human or animal world.

Also the words evil and good is a definition made up in the human brain. Its social terms of speaking.
