What do you think about the future?

What do you think the future will be like? It could be 50 years, 100 years, or a whole millennium, etc. If the world lasts this long what do you think the future will be like?

I envision non-pollutant and nature friendly technology, in a magical world; flying saucers and space ship cities and cities on other planets and the moon. There would be mega metropolis but there would still be a country side untouched by humans. Robots and machine will take over most jobs and the rest of our time will left for relax and recreation, etc. Advanced education, advanced medicine, and advanced technology and the metaphysical would be more physical to our senses and increase our spirituality...

That's all I have for now.

People will be unhappy because they no longer have anything to work for; it will all be automated. You'll no longer know what it feels like to get home from the video rental store and pop in a physical copy of a film you just rented. Tigers will be extinct. Politics and the economy will still be more important than "saving the planet". Vaccines will have created indestructible viruses that are immune to the medications we take. The heating up of the earth will cause insect populations to explode further.

Yeah, I'm cynical but that's where we seem to be going. Think about it.

People will be fat, they will think they are happy when they arent

People will learn that all of this will happen if they don't change things, people will wake up and start doing things for the common good of all, will understand that the planet is not theirs to destroy, and will guide humanity to a bright and positive future. And we can help this happen, by leading by example.

Every generation that comes along, starts realizing more and more that we're screwing up shit. Theres still alot of greedy bastards but I have faith that we will pull it together and do what is right.

The middle east is just behind in the times. Theyre like europe used to be. It's just taking them longer to get where Europe is now. But remember, christianity started 2000 years ago, Islam started like 1400 years ago I think.

I see us getting into really deep trouble with wrecking the planet, running out of fuel, and destroying the environment. The general public will realize we are going to run out of fuel sources when it is already to late, but advancements in renewable energy like solar power will come down in price and increase in efficient just in time to save us. It will be a bumpy cross over from gas to solar power but we will make it. The environment will get all screwed up but we will be able to overcome most of the problems thanks to new technologies. Though tons of people will still die from building close to the sea and then getting wiped out about super hurricanes and people will still be stupid enough to live by rivers and die from super floods.

We will overpopulate the earth and run out of food but advances in food production will make it survivable for people in most developed countries but the poor countries are all going to be screwed, but then eventually we will even be able to help them. Cancer is going to increase dramatically but we will develop nanobots and stuff, which will cure cancer. We will cure most other diseases and make our bodies more efficient, which will partly help with the solving of the food problem.

We will inject nanobots into our brain to make our self smarter and our technology will improve even more rapidly than it is now, and eventually we will become immortal thanks to our medicine. Then we will start to merge with technology to make our bodies perfect and people will end up taking all sort of new forms. Some people will take animal forms like dogs and cats, while other people will inject nanobots into their pet dogs to make the dogs as smart as humans. Eventually there will be all sort of advanced and intelligent life forms on earth, ranging from super humans, to computers that are smarter than humans, to super advanced robots that were born as dolphins or lions but became superior to modern day humans, and equal to the new future humans. There will be many prejudices against the different life forms at first but eventually they will blend together and seperate and it will become so mixed no one can tell the difference between them and we will all become equals.

Then we will go to the moon, and to mars, and eventually all the planets in our solar system. We will create a giant dome around the sun to collect all the solar power it gives off, and then use the energy to power special lights, perhaps a mini fake sun around earth so that plant and animal life will continue to exist. Though by then humans will no longer eat food, but just run on power them self, and so it would be no issue for us. Then we will fly around to all the other galaxies and solar systems spreading across all the world. Some people will go mess with lower life forms that are growing on distant plants, some will go about studying them, some will just mine planets for whatever they want.

We will spread across the entire universe. At some point we will stop having children and stuff, and just make copies of our self. Which go off and do their own thing but then come back and merge together. We will learn all the secrets of the universe and find a way to escape into other dimensions and find new worlds. We will then spread through all the possible infinite universes and dimensions for all the time, and every time we figure out the world around us we will come across new strange places, like dimensions were the laws of physics do not apply and we will spend time solving them new rules as well.

As for srs topic. I see us dying a horrible horrible world ending death. Let's assume we haven't murdered ourselves and eachother yet (a long shot), at some point the sun explodes, or we totally fuck up the Earth to the point where our only alternative will be to move offplanet. The only habitable planets close enough are the Moon and Mars. Throw in the evergrowing overpopulation issue (CWATIDIDTHAR?) and we wont fit there either. Without some sort of interdimensional or faster than light travel, we'll be effed.

Or we could all live on giant spaceships. That sounds cool.

The overpopulation problem is going to solve itself one way or another in the next 50-100 years. Population growth as been decreasing, and will eventually hit a point where it will stop and probably the world population will begin to decline. Hopefully in a control manner and not from everyone dying. Though it will happen one of those ways.

I think by the time the sun explodes humans will have technology to get out of our solar system. I really believe, assuming we are still alive at that point, we will have explored most of the galaxy and probably into other galaxies by then.

If I was world leader I would make a movie out of your posts and make it mandatory viewing.

I picture two futures: One where we don't have enough food to feed our growing population, Westernized nations becoming too reliant on technology, making them very lazy and (virtually) useless, technology growing very quickly, and not necessarily for the better of society, but rather the better of those who can afford it. The environment will be almost completely ruined, with the loss of species very damaging. Little biodiversity.

We could also have technology that helps mankind without assisting rapid overpopulation, a renewed interest in environmentalism and biodiversity in a world where people are responsible for their actions and helpful towards one another. I see this future as unlikely. I WANT it to happen, but it's very unlikely.
