What makes you unique? How are you special?

Or maybe you're not special. Do you think you are far more mature, and intelligent than your acquaintances? For your age? Perhaps your family too. Do they not seem as smart now that you've grown up and even surpassed them intellectually.

Do you feel like you are "enlightened" to a degree more than most people?

Personally I think most people are useless and worthless. I say most because I know there is a handful of great people around (this forum is an example), but we must remind ourselves that 90% of the population doesn't even know what a forum is.

      What are your thoughts?

I think everybody feels more mature and deep than everybody else. More enlightened than everyone else.

      I actually am.

I agree with Meakel. But I don't want to stress myself or add burden to myself for trying to be better, more mature, or spiritual than others; as if there is some type of award for being "mature". I wouldn't look down on anything too. You can say that people are simple minded and waste there time with petty stuff while your trying to do things more meaningful, but at the same time they may think that the things you do are down right boring. Both points of view can be superior or inferior to each other. I plan to party while I'm young and settle down when I grow older.

      Your point is flawed.

Personally, most people are not unique. They aren't special. I'm not unique, I'm not special. Does it matter? Not much, there are way too many people to make me inherently unique at anything. Does that make them useless as you said? NO. I mean what the heck went through your mind when you formulated that mess of an idea?! Not being unique = not being useful? WHAT. I mean.. I don't even.. WHAT

I'm a little too unique... honestly.

Do I consider myself more mature than the average person? No. I do not know the average person. I've never met him. It's impossible for me to say.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

well there is a strong tendency toward similarity biologically and sociologically, so some people may be more "unique" then others lol

I feel unique and special in acknowledging that a high IQ, broad sexuality, atypical geographical origins, nontraditional family, minority religion, mixed ethnicity, atypical familiarity with mind-altering substances, and lower-than-average ambition still leave my experience of being human on earth just a hair shy of identical with every single other hominid that has ever drawn breath.

My eye colour is green. I am left-handed. I play music by ear (various instruments) but cannot read music. I am far more pale than the "typical" American. I do not like green eggs and ham.

Everyone would like to think they are unique.
It is human nature to think yourself better, smarter, etc than the people around you naturally.
Probably because your brain can't fully comprehend other peoples consciousness.
However, I find it very childish to consider oneself unique, special, or better than other people.
I do my best to suppress those kind of thoughtless feelings.

The truth is, no one is special or better or whatever. In the end, a life's a life.
You can't call 90% of the population worthless-- you haven't been in their shoes, you don't know what they've done.
      We're all human beings.

It makes life a little more bearable for some people, boosts self-esteem, to feel unique. I say, let others feel unique. Spreading kindness only increases kindness

I inherited an estate worth over a million dollars, watched Hurricane Katrina through a window, went insane, I am very smrt, and I AM very unique.
I am, however no more "special" than the degree that one maggot is more special than another maggot, or one diamond is more special than another diamond.

I am a unique instantiation of the homosapian class. Even if someone else exists that is *exactly* like me, i am here and he is there, or he was and i am, regardless we are different, hence unique.

On another note, i only care that i *could* be different, whether i actually am, however, is inconsequential.
