Lightbulb All you intellectuals out there...

Hey guys, just wanted to get some outside opinions on this. It's for a class I'm taking and I seem to have gotten writer's block for the past week or so

Here goes. I am presenting you with 3 things. The first is Charles Manson, second is Berlin, Germany, and the third is Dante's Inferno. Now I'm assuming the great majority of you are well read and know what most of these things are as I have seen the intellectual discussion some of you are capable of firsthand.

What common threads do each of these things have? Any underlying themes relating each of these things to each other (i.e. themes of redemption, ect.)?
For Berlin keep in mind that this is the city that followed Hitler in his little venture and the consequences that followed were damn near horrific (Soviet occupation, oppression, Cold War), but also keep in mind that nowadays Germany is one of our most steadfast allies and a huge economic powerhouse at the moment. Any piece of information from any of these things is fair game. I'm kind of out of ideas so I'm looking to you all, don't let me down

P.S. You can link these topics on any ground, don't be afraid to post your most far fetched out there ideas. Who knows, you may spark a discussion the likes of which this world has never seen!

      Again, the three are:
      Charles Manson
      Berlin, Germany
Dante's Inferno (the epic poem, not the game or movie)
      I have a dream...

Just some things I can think of.. Probably nothing. =\

-Charles Manson carved a Swastika into his forehead
-Tried to start a race war (Helter skelter)
-Germany, Hitler starts a race war (WWII)
-Charlie convinced his "family" that there was a tunnel in the desert which led to another world in which they could stay until the war was over
-Berlin, Germany has many underground bunkers built by the Nazis.
-In Dante's inferno, hell is a literal place, underground.
-Dante's journey through hell mirrors Charlie's life (he certainly is evil)
-Hitler and Charlie Manson both convinced normal people into committing incredibly heinous things

Haha I'm glad dreamviews hasn't changed much, still as intelligent as ever. I asked this same question in the other forum I frequent, but I got 89 views and no replies

Wait a bit longer, you'll get legitimate replies. We have some geniuses here but most of them are really arrogant, hope that won't be a problem.

      >.>

It's much easier to find similarities between Berlin and Manson because Hitler and Charlie both had such twisted and occultic worldviews. Dante's Inferno is more difficult to connect and I'd like something a bit more substantial than connecting hell's cave-like structure to Berlin's underground bunkers, no offense sero.

It may have something to do with delusion. Charles Manson believed the Beatles were sending messages, intentionally or synchromystically, through their music prophesizing the Race War that would change the order of mankind forever, taking down the corrupt white rulership but plunging the world into chaos at the same time, allowing him to lead people. Hitler believed he was part of the uprising of an ancient brotherhood of people defeated by the Hebrew brotherhood which now dominated the world and that it was his destiny to defeat this people and change the order of the mankind. They both used intoxicating illusions against their followers in order to obtain their loyalty (only Manson used real intoxicants and Hitler used new types of propaganda). Finally, they both ultimately failed in their attempts.

Dante's Inferno is an interesting piece to throw in here because it changed the way people thought about Hell and Satan. The Bible doesn't even describe Hell, and describes Satan as an active beast working on Earth to devour souls. Inferno then gives us the Hell of poetic justice with a lake of fire that we accept into today's mythology. It also presents Satan as a loser, the one who tried to take everything he could and replace God but failed. Now left sulking in the crater he created when he was cast down, Satan is just another guy deluded by a sense of grandeur.
