      Emotions

A pseudo-acronym is that emotions is "energy in motion..." ya well, so is urine.

anyway, a famous statement is that emotions are what get us to act, or keep us from acting.

that got me wondering...if our lives are controlled by feelings. that it's absolutely impossible to operate apart from feelings....although we can try our best to not feel and be objective in all cases. I'm up to hear good feedback.

I believe your feelings are big influences. They convince you to go a certain way. It's like all your feelings are running a campaign for your vote on what to do. You choose which one you want naturally. I do believe it's possible to break away from your feelings. If it's a good or bad thing I don't really know.

I belive that we can surpress our emotions and operate seperatley from them if we work at it. It woudl take eyars and years of practice to do this thio, IMO. We woudl still have them, only surpress them as much as we can. Almost like Vulcans from star trek hah.

Reminds me of the feature films Equilibrium (starring Batman's Christian Bale) and Appleseed (a recently released anime). They both consist of societies that suppress certain emotions to be better manageable, but the reason is eventually a dysfunctional society that is led by a corrupt leader.

I don't know if supressing or ignoring emotions in all judgements is healthy at all. It's good to do that and put them aside in extremely important decisions, but I think that's all. But in my analysis, I don't see any possible action that isn't first motivated by a feeling that trains a thought, even if it doesn't seem like it...think about it. When it doesn't seem to be motivated by a feeling, think about the opposing feeling that would surface if it's not done...

Regardless of whether such a thing is possible (and I have my doubts), I don't think that making decisions without regard to emotional context is healthy or advantageous. Emotion is an integral part of life's experience and a decision made in the absense of emotional considerations is one that is incomplete. The emotional consequences of a decision will always be present, whether or not they are immediately acknowledge.

Emotion is one of the 'internal' forms of input we percieve. I would usually rather feel it than suppress it, just like I would usually want to remember past events, or see present events. To suppress it entirely because you have found some facets of emotion to be detrimental to your well-being(as happened in Equilibrium, an awesome movie by the way) would be like blinding yourself because you might see something disgusting or awful, and if you go to the absolute extreme in that reguard you have subjective death.

It will not do any good to ignore them. You will only delay your progress.

Not just urine, Everything. What is your point there anyway. Such a thing goes back to the secret of your existence.

There is different kinds of emotions at different levels you can't put them all in the same catergory like they are all the same thing. There is a difference between lower and higher emotions. Emotions can control you. So can your understanding which can create them . One who is a slave to their emotions will eventually reach a higher level where they will not be so much controlled by it, but they will understand emotions enough and conquer them enough to know the difference between emotional truth and emotions created from there mind, which they will then be able to take care of. They will see something higher. The way they learn and go about life will be in a totally diffierent context. They will no longer be run by emotions and they will learn in a different way. They will able to use them properly and therefore having mastered them, they will no longer experience negativity, or any emotion which will be destructive, as is there is no point.

      They they they they. lol.

thats as best as I can describe what I am trying to say, it is a complicated subject that branches out into other areas and goes really deep. So far it seems like people here are just discussing the tip of the iceberg. Without realizing exackly the variations and what they are in general as well as their cause and purpose.

Well, I am disappointed that you failed to see the dark humor at the top of my post....unless I'm mistaken. I wrote it in a cynical mood, it's really unnecessary to dissect jokes...even sometimes embarrasing. But you didn't know that.

Well, I guess, surely, we have an ability to see beyond our emotions, because they themselves are not the higher seat of consciousness, perception is. I just got to wondering, if indeed we are fooling ourselves of our pure ability to see beyond them, and in fact are just controlled by another one...I don't have a real good reason to ask this, because it kinda wastes time, or doesn't it??

LOL. Sorry. I can understand that.

The idea is we control and use emotions, not they control and use us.
And I should know about that for personal reasons I shall not explain here.
