Well, I for one think that we don't give things importance after knowing about them, but we are drawn to them for their existing importance; we don't make a big deal out of things, we simply realize the big deal that they are.

This is slightly related but still distant from philosophical nominalism, which says that abstract concepts, general terms, and universals have no independent existence from their names, and exist only as names. Perhaps you would feel comfortable abstracting my identity and motivations, and saying they exist only as names, and be satisfied with the above answers?
