      November 22.

November 22, 2005. On this day, some people see it as the release of the Xbox 360. 1/356th of the world will see it as their birthday. For me, It marks one year. One year, since one of my friends left this world. I see it as an important day because of that. When she died, I was one of the people who stayed silent, and didn't say much. Even so, I didn't mourn. Not much. I didn't know what she would've wanted us to do, and I don't think anyone did. but I knew what I had to do about it. I had to move on. You can't just stand there and mourn all the time. You can't stop. Everything's moving, and you can't stop, just stand there and cry about it. I know that many of my friends were closer friends to her than me, and they were all mourning for quite a while, but I knew that we can't stop. We have to continue. You might call me heartless, but it's true. I think that's what she would want us to do. We have to continue living, live life to the fullest. We can't just stay in the past forever. We have to continue forward. I.. still feel sad, but we have to keep going.

(Would this belong in the Philosophy section or Extended discussion? or perhaps a livejournal?)

It's almost poetic enough to be in the Artist's Corner, but it's serious enough to be in The Lounge; yet, the way you're using it to grasp at a deeper meaning makes it perfect to be in Philosophy. I wouldn't worry about it.

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear your friend died. I think you're absolutely right.

There's a parable that echoes of what you've said, but I don't have the time to post it right now; I will later for sure.

      I agree entirely.
Death is more traumatic for the living than the dead. No need to worsen it by endless mourning. Remember them of course, but don't let it hold you back.

There's a great poem about dying, and mourning. It's commonly used at funerals, but i can't remember what it's called.
      I think it goes:

'Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, i do not sleep.'

There's loads more to it, about not mourning, but playing and laughing as you always did when that someone was alive, talking about them as if they were still a part of your life.
I believe that when someone dies, they are never really gone, as long as we never forget them.
'all of the moments that already passed/
try to go back and make them last.'

I guess she wanted you to be happy. So get drunk and order some pizza and a prostitute.

Hi, Pizza Hut? Yes, I'd like an order for delivery. I'd like a large pizza, half pepperoni and half hawaiian. Oh, and send over a young woman as well, half Asian and Half Caucasian. $366.65 you say? Well, i have a coupon, so its only 365.65, right? Oh, its out of date you say? Darn, oh well. See you in fourty five minutes.
