      The ultimate generalization

From my own obscured eyes I have seen the following.
*This is in reference to lucid dreaming*

Conservatives. are hardwired to believe in one direction. Narrow minded. If they stumble upon a lucid dream they start to become more liberal.

Atheists. Tend to argue about religion and I don't even know if they can lucid dream.

Liberals. Bound to follow anything. Lucid dreaming once found, takes them into more profound realms.

Religious. They are bound so tightly to their religion that straying from that path is usually confined. Hindering their experiences.

Many times I have asked one who does not know the definition of lucid dreaming.

"Can you know you are dreaming?"

Alot of the time I have herd responses like. I don't think so. Dreams are just Dreams. You don't know your dreaming. If you want to try this as an experiment. Go into a yahoochat room and ask people. And see what they say about it. I bet the majority will have a NO attitude.

Goes to show how we can be really stuck in a not possible attitude. Where do you think this mindset comes from? without considering the possibilities.

Here are some aspects where similar responses are shown.....

      1) How can there be life after death?
2)How can humanity ever live in peace
3)How can we ever travel in time?
4)how can humanity as a whole overcome our lower nature. (greed etc)
5)how can there be any other life in the universe
6)how can we overcome space and matter
      7)how does consiousness work.

There is alot more, here are just some examples of things generally not realized or known in society. I am not mentioning here things that were thought impossible and laughable that were then discovered as true.

Here are the following answers of people who simply do not know.

      1) You die, and thats just it. You cease to exist.
      (or do you?)

      2) We can never live in peace, thats just how humanity is
      (or is it?)

      3)Time travel is impossible
      (or is it?)

      4) We can never overcome our greedy nature, that is just humanity
      (or is it?)

      5) There is no life in the universe we are special
      (or are we?)

      6) You cannot conquer matter and space because of the laws of physics that govern it (Can we really not conquer it? Is there something we are missing?)

7)we dont know how Consiousness is created, but it is from our brains
(is it really? how? Is there a way to find out how consiousness exists? Lets try and see)

From this we can see which side is the most closed minded on the issue.
The ones with the closed minds are the ones who never discover anything.
Just like the ones who have never tried to lucid dream, with a similar mindset as this, do not even think it is possible.

Those who do not carry such a mindset are the ones making all the discoveries.

Just be careful not to be so open minded that your brain falls out of your head.

There's a difference between asking some random Yahoo! Chat users and asking people who have put time and effort into researching the issue. If you showed the same chatters valid data supporting lucid dreaming as well as a variety of first hand accounts I doubt they would deny the possibility.

Similarily, your seven questions have much more concrete answers than you suppose.

I guess by the same token you could say.

"Be careful not to be so closed minded that you squash your brain"

I think logic and reason can help keep your brain without it falling out or being squashed and we can have a balance.

Actually, part of the reason why I find lucid dreaming so enjoyable is because it is being at the center of so much joy and power without God. That makes the fun factor go through the roof.

Only until later, when I tried to experiment with using lucid dreams for occult-like purposes, was I paranoid that God, if he existed, being all sick and maniacal and essentially random and powerful and such, would punish me after death and so forth. I have a hard inner Catholic shell of church nonsense that I've had to shed.

Lucid dreaming and my goals within it made me an atheist. Without it I would have preferred the intellectual safety of Deism or Agnosticism. But the more lucid dreams I had, the more I saw Atheism as a saving grace.

It was coined by Richard Dawkins, I think, famous atheist, geneticist and author of "The Selfish Gene."

What a silly worthless generalization. You'd be hard-pressed to find a group that fit those. A generalization is true when applied to a large number, but most often false when applied to an individual.

Those are just randomly untenably stupid across the board.

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.
